How the AU Ra will "blend" in scenario?

Playing a bit with the Benchmark I realized something.
How's SE gonna deal with the sudden appearance of the Au Ra in game's scenario?
I mean when you play first time as an Au Ra how's will it be like for Minfilia and team to realize they had an Au Ra with them all along in 2.0 while the Au Ra didn't exist in Eorzea before Yugiri came on ship along with her people?
Will Au Ra start from Ishgard? For the 3 new jobs this makes sense but the new jobs aren't available up until lvl 30. So how will it be like that for the 3 major city states to suddenly have an Au Ra among them? They are not supposed to see uncovered Au Ra's running around.
I suppose as a new Au Ra you will start in Ishgard and then move back to Eorzea for the 2.0 scenario? This confuses me a bit.

Well, this is something tricky. What you need to take into account, that our characters are adventurers that came from somewhere unknown. So it's not out of the question that an Au Ra adventurer suddenly appears.

However, the entire Yugiri thing during cutscenes does break that. Considering her appearance is supposed to be shocking. At least, that's what Yugiri tells us. And let's face it, nobody seems to ever blink about her tail or her appearance beside our character...

Personally, this could have all been avoided if Yugiri showed her face from the start and introduced herself as an Au Ra. On the opposite side, we live in a world where different kind of races, beastmen and monsters live on the same plain. Seeing a race like the Au Ra with horns shouldn't really be -that- surprising to the average eorzean.

Easiest way to handle this would be to pretend as if they had always been there and just have Yugiri remover her mask when she sees other Au Ra around. I don't really remember a scenario where they refer to you by race just man or woman.

Not sure if this was noted already, however NPCs involved in a lot of questlines address us by race, particularly main scenario and guild ones. I've been called a Miqote beeotch several times XD

They will fix it somehow.
Currently I imagine FF scenario as something with one present and multiple possible pasts leading to the same present.
We can consider "present" to be Main Quest's end (2.55 currently, 3.0 in Heavensward).
We already have two possible pasts: 1.x legacy character and 2.0+ character. There is one difference in 2.0 MQ cutscene. With addition of Au'Ra we'll have third possible past: Au'Ra.
Yoshida and co. will just have to tweak MQ and some other quests for new race starting (and only for them). All 3 different pasts will be leading to the same present: 3.0 MQ start or 3.0 MQ end. All new quests implemented in/after 3.0 will be the same for everyone.

Yugiri appearance is not shocking, it's only some people are uneasy about it, and for avoid this she do hide her face....

if a player Au Ra do the story, when he will meet her, she will probably not hide her face.

I don't think they would necessarily have that oversight (though I promise nothing, so I may be wrong).
Only reason I think this is because of the end of 2.55 when they bring the DRG npc in - Ishgard's champion guy (...I forgot his name, but that's nothing new for me). Two FC mates who did the Dragoon quests had him say, "oh, it's you again". He didn't say this to me when I went through (As I stopped leveling Lancer on my two 50 characters for invigorate), as I hadn't done the DRG quests. So there's definitely path splittings based on the player's information.


In general, one thing I can think of to bring resolution to the problem with Lady Yugiri, is if they alter NPCs words if they register you as 'Au Ra' (just like they change the words to refer to you as he/she or by race) to react to how 'new' the Au Ra are. How scary or how they don't know how they'll get used to the Au Ra's presence, blah blah blah - maybe not even that kind of stuff. Basically- 'If Race: Au Ra, Then fire: x script".

Easiest way out, as someone said, is to pretend they always existed and therefore not discriminated against and not viewed as anything else by the NPCs. I just don't know how they'll deal with Lady Yugiri being covered to the hilt (despite her tail). Only way out of that is to alter the original script to clarify it - maybe that she was uneasy just because she was on a new continent with unknown relations with her race.

Shouldn't make that assumption when they do go out of their way to produce unique CS moments such as having a reaction to certain people based on job classes you've completed or your interaction with certain NPCs through other quest when involved in the Main story.
