You know, they slap stupidly lengthy cooldowns on pretty much everything for no reason.

Also please don't compare monk gap closers to dragoon. Dragoon has a ranged attack and they don't lose a massive damage buff when they don't have uptime on a mob. If any class should have significantly better gap closers, it should be monk considering their lack of ranged options and the awful greased lightning mechanic.
Dragoon has 2 gap closers, at 60 seconds and 120 seconds (and elusive if you count it at 180 seconds), versus monk with one at 30 seconds. Regular jump is just an off GCD attack with a huge range, that is pretty much the opposite of a gap closer.

Monk's gap closer stuns, as does the 60 second DRG, so they are not usable on the rare bosses that can be stunned and need to be at certain times.

Elusive jump doesn't automaticaly removes you from AOE. Your hitbox STAYS where you first are, and only moves when you are about to land back. While it is a good move for removing extra emnity, the "Evasive" portion of it lacks a lot.

this is all due to the server position update times and your own ping, it does actually move you, its just difficult to use in many scenarios because of this. with that said, i've seen dragoons elusive out of bombs in titan ex and then spineshatter back in without pausing and not get hit, not nessasary to maintain dps but it proves my point well enough

It's not just this game, in Wildstar if you Projected Spirit, which is a leap like teleport, the death zone or ability will hit you if it reaches your starting point before you actually land.

most mmos use a similar setup to what ffxiv uses in order to prevent server overload, so its no wonder theres a similar effect in wildstar.
on that note, it doesnt change the fact that it has a use for dodging, how quickly you need to dodge using the skill is another thing entirely

I agree. Ninja's skill works in the same fashion, you just have to use it preemptively.

Dragoons need a buff, as do Monks.

No, they both need nerfs, just because, especially with several new skills coming with the expansion.
