Definitely odd, never had that happen to me personally.

On the subject of ready checks however, i did a couple ST and WoD runs yesterday as the MT, and a few times i got angry responses for popping a ready check to make sure everyone was good to go, we had some new players and in the earlier parts of the dungeons people didn't seem to have their shit together, during one of the CT runs i had a healer grab the agro of the final encounter and told me to and i quote "wake up" when there were still people pouring into the arena and setting up. Should i just not bother with checks anymore when i seem to receive negative feedback over ensuing everyone is good to go?

I understand people are anxious and just want to get it over with, but as a MT in a raid i try to wait for those who're slower or new to the dungeon so their party members can explain the mechanics or position/buff themselves. It's disheartening when you get rude comments just for being accommodating of others.

My rule for CT runs is if everyone is there, nobody is new, and nobody has said otherwise, everyone is there. Ready checks typically end up as 10 second warnings on the pull when people do them.

In my experience of CT, when one of the tanks initiates a ready check it usually acts as a prompt for one of the others to pull the boss before anyone has a chance to respond...

You were using them the way they're intended to be used, to make sure you got everyone together. Whoever was complaining was just being a jerk. Some people just don't want to allow others (particularly newcomers) to be ready or take part in the run. Don't let selfish players discourage you from being better than them just because they'll complain about it.
