How the AU Ra will "blend" in scenario?

It's not game breaking ofc but the lvl 50 Cul quest was nothing in front of the appearance of the Au Ra. That's huge now. It's not just a subtle detail in a quest text line anymore for someone to not notice. If every time they put in game a new race or a new class will result in breaking the timeline and destroy main scenario's coherence then in 2 years the game will be completely broken from a storyline perspective.

As for the Au Ra, SE is just gonna add their race to the NPC's database and everyone is gonna act like Au Ra have been around since the beginning. As you Yugiri, they'll probably change a few words. Buuuuuuut the best CoA is to lock everyone from creating an Au Ra til they finish 2.55. It's really not out of the realm of possibility.

Fun Fact: The game has made references to the Au Ri long before Yugiri made her big reveal at the end of the main scenario. One such reference is made on the Wind-up Odin minion description.

"Summon your wind-up Odin minion. Guaranteed not to wipe out your entire party in one fell stroke.
Many have pondered why a dark divinity with roots in northern mythology would wield a blade with a decidedly Far Eastern name. A popular theory is that Odin acquired the blade upon slaying an Auri warrior who was the first ever to notch his theretofore unsullied plate."

So just taking that little tidbit of folklore into account, in context to the universe, people are already aware of the existence of the Au Ra as a people.

As for the justification of a new player doing the main scenario for the first time, in context to the world you are an unknown adventure from a land far from Eorzea. Perhaps from a small Au Ran village far to the east? Fill in the blanks.

Being an Au Ra is the easiest one just as Boots said. Yugiri, they have a couple different ways to go about it. With the way non WoL Duskwights are treated, it can actually give good reason to stay hidden even after seeing an uncovered Au Ra WoL. Either that or they might have her uncover herself. We'll only know once the xpac comes out.

Easiest way to handle this would be to pretend as if they had always been there and just have Yugiri remover her mask when she sees other Au Ra around. I don't really remember a scenario where they refer to you by race just man or woman.

Not sure if this was noted already, however NPCs involved in a lot of questlines address us by race, particularly main scenario and guild ones. I've been called a Miqote beeotch several times XD

Maybe Yugiri will turn out to be a princess in hiding or something, and that's the real reason she disguised herself? They could do anything with it.

They do the same as they did with the male miqo'te. They was npc lalafall that said he heard of rumors about people seeing male miqo'te in the city ul'dah. Then 2.0 hits and there male miqo'te running around female roegadyn and female highlanders.

Basically it will be like every other race they added in 2.0 nothing will change with the story.

The gist of it: they won't. There's no "scenario" to blend in, really.

To elaborate a bit more: it's a sad fact that races (and by extension, clans) are barely referenced at all in-game, making any choice completely irrelevant. I don't mean there should be any sort of discrimination, obviously, but yeah, whatever you are, you don't stand out anywhere, you aren't suspicious or even noticed anywhere in that regard, not one NPC gives you any kind of positive or negative treatment based on your race or clan. I know all of Eorzea is a blend of all races (mostly), but yeah, it's still wrong somehow.

From a more mechanic, outside point of view: the minuscule stat differences are so minuscule they can be ignored altogether, and apart from that, there's nothing to distinguish races/clans either, not even in that regard. I understand the concept of equality, and not wanting to leave one out of something and favour another, but I find it disappointing that that meant going the absolute zero route, not at all giving any race anything special/unique to distinguish. Save for appearance, obviously, but even that doesn't amount to anything at the end of the day, it's more for the pleasure of the players than for any detail in the story or some such.
