They will just fix few Yugiri sentences and there will be no more problems.

Well, maybe if someone see an AU Ra, there is a chance they might think it is some form of high Ul'dahian fashion thingy. We do live in a world where glamour and stuff exist for fashionable purposes.

I was called out for being an Hyur in the MS when I was a Hyur, then as a Elezen later in MS when I switched. Im curious to see what they do with this. Even as I went through some questlines in Coetheras they said "our people" a couple of times. Curious is an understatement

It's clear the Au Ra will be available if you own Heavensward and this means you can start playing as Au Ra from the beginning. There can be numerous of explanations however I'm concerned how they gonna handle this problem without disturbing the 2.0 storyline. It's clear there were no Au Ra around Eorzea before Yugiri's arrival. They live in another continent in the far East and they arrived with Yugiri's ship as refuges after the Garleans invaded them. The reason Yugiri hides her face is that there are no Au Ra in Eorzea until her arrival so she afraid that Eorzeans might scared of her. Tataru is not but Yugiri doesn't know the reaction of the others. So the timelines seems kinda broken. I'm pretty sure SE thought about this problem and implemented a solution to explain this but since they didn't give details on that I'm worried. What happens if you select to play as an Au Ra Lancer and you must start in Gridania and you look like a succubus?

More or less, the addition of Au Ra is going to be ignored by the mechanics.
So you'll be called 'Auri' in that cutscene without a second thought by the NPC. Yugiri will still hide her face in spite of being right in front of another Auri, etc.
This is because part of the game's timeline is caught in a bubble, and there's nothing really you can do to update the game to compensate for that, there will always be that loophole.
SE can try to close it by creating an additional line of Dialogue from Yigiri by saying "You are far bolder than I, adventurer. But perhaps it is because you are the Warrior of Light, that it is overlooked. My experience differs." Or some such in the same way Einstein acknowledges if the Warrior of Light is a Dragoon in his cutcene in the Main Story. But likely, you should not expect more than small patches such as that.
I became a NIN before meeting with Yugiri for the very first time, and then saw all the NIN fight cutscenes and the style being called doman and different and whatnot...
It felt odd, but thats how it will be with Au Ra too... something that "had always been there but you just never saw it".

Oh yeah speaking about that, when I did the MS as a NIN for 2.4, Yugiri made mention saying something like, 'I see you have been practicing in our arts."I became a NIN before meeting with Yugiri for the very first time, and then saw all the NIN fight cutscenes and the style being called doman and different and whatnot...

Yea, they will input one or 2 subtle lines like that, maybe, just like that one extra line Estinien comments when he meets you at ishgard depending on if your DRG is already lvl 50 or not...

This kind of thing is easily solved with a little bit of player imagination. In a pre-3.0 universe, Yugiri hid her face so she wouldn't be judged for being an outsider of unknown race. In a post-3.0 universe, Yugiri hid her face because she is self-conscious about the way she looks. It's only when Tataru tells her that she's beautiful does she have enough self-esteem to keep the mask off for good.
Problem solved.

I think everyone is just overthinking it.
By all accounts The Auri weren't in Eorzea in V1.0, and we saw none during the 2.X storyline except for Yugiri. The Doman are not automatically Auri.
SE could go the lazy direction and just retcon this, but that would mess with the established game narrative (just like how there were no Male Miqo'te's in V1.0) and instead change the question to why do we see Auri now (the refugees) and not at the beginning. For this I'm going to Assume that new characters who choose Auri actually start somewhere other than the three starting cities, and there's some narrative that brings them into the V2.0 storyline, much like how the storyline brings you to the grand companies. Guess we will have to wait and see.
