The last review (kind of old but not much more recent Speed Test Comparison ) I read about converting the HDD in a PS4 to an SSD or a Hybrid were pretty unphenomenal to say the least. This early in the console's lifespan, it didn't seem like the games that were tested really showed to much of an improvement, and not only that but the variances differed between all three. Some things were actually quicker on the stock HDD!

Just putting this out there for you, Pomelo and Peachy. I would maybe try and research how the {upgrade?} would affect this game by speaking to others who may have bought it for the specific purpose of playing FFXIV. I like the link I posted because it makes comparisons with multi-player games with high activity (such as CoD and Battlefield) and would be the closest similarity to an MMO in terms of high volume and high action. I ultimately didn't upgrade because of this link, simply because I don't care about hunts enough to worry about zoning in 10 seconds faster I am quite content with PS4 load times in this game unless there is 1,000 people in a zone.

If you want to throw down a couple hundred on the upgrade for that, or maybe to futureproof against games that may come out in a year or two that is utilizing the full power of the console then go for it! But either way, it's a decent monetary investment to just go in blindly. I would do my due diligence and research it beforehand.
