On the benchmark does anyone know what the PS4 is set to in accordance to the defaults? (Like high desktop and so on) and which DX it uses, I kinda want to see what it may look like/perform![]()

I'd personally like to see the benchmark released on PS3 and PS4 if anything just see how it handles and looks on those platforms, can just have it as a rolling demo trialer/demo thing - like that extra cutscene that shipped with MGS: Ground Zero but needs installing to the HDD, entirely game engine but non-interactive demo.
The purpose of the "benchmark" is to determine if your system configuration is adequate to run the expansion. As there are no configuration options on a PS3 / PS4, there is no reason for SE to spend money to produce a benchmark for those systems.
I'd much rather have SE invest in content.
Think of it as this way...
Gaming on PC = You make your PC to play that Game.
Gaming on Consoles = Developers make the game for you to play.
That is why no benchmark for PS4.

Thats not what I meant at all
On the benchmark there is various settings to switch between, such as maximum, high and standard, these are "possibly" unified across all PC's as they sometimes specify whether the schema fits Desktop or Laptops and so on.
It's only through the "custom" setting that you can choose your own preferences and such based on your machine. Therefore I was wondering which of the 'set in stone' schemas is the one most similar to the PS4.
I didn't once ask for a PS4 benchmark :P
Yoshi said before the ps4 version uses the DX11 quality effects. I own both versions, have compared them side by side, and have been patiently waiting for pc to get the DX11 version also. If you think of it terms of PC settings the ps4 has a custom setup, everything is basically on max settings with a few exceptions. The UI is lower res on ps4 (I assume because its hard to read high res chat on a tv at a distance) and takes a bit of tweaking to match what im used to on the pc. And (assuming you are using a high end pc on max) the ps4 has slightly longer load times and seems unable to handle massive amounts of players as well as a pc, like hunts and odin.
Thanks alotI had assumed it was a bit above the standard! Heres hoping the massive amounts of player thing isnt too bad though >.<
No its not terrible. I just meant to say a high end pc can handle more objects on screen and will load zones faster, the ps4 version is still great imo.
I was thinking of upgrading the hard drive on my PS4 to a SSD, im sure this would help with our load times
I have heard of this before but didnt think about it (looks it up). this is brilliant lol Im going to do it to my ps3 and 4 now as a general upgrade, I can imagine it would drastically help FFXIV not to mention other games and performance issues.
