    Easy or difficult, when 99% of players are stuck there in main story progression, SE had to make its move anyway.

    Yes SoF has been eased, but I think it still not is a faceroll, I guess missing harpoons are not an option.

    Not to mention we were got to a point people were abandoning duty "on sight" and duty so hated to have them willing to face 30min penalty instead to stay there 1 second more.

    Just got out of Steps. The Nerfs are real.

    Super real. One of the assigned cannon people didn't get on at all, no one did snares, still killed him before third dragonkiller.

    Wow... That's shitty...

    I was all for making Steps more forgiving, but this effectively sounds like the mechanics have gone out the window.

    It is hard to tell actually how much things have really been nerfed.

    My run just after the severs went live contained 6 people who had already cleared and all members were well geared.

    Every time I'd done it, I really enjoyed how tense it was. Like the original Demon Wall where there was an actual possibility of him reaching the end. Every time I've beaten it there were two people on cannons, every Dragon Killer landed and he was still getting close to the end, if not already hitting it.

    Going off what Krylo said; Only one person on cannon, presumably the first Dragon Killer landed, no Snares on second, killed him before third.

    That's a shitty nerf. I was perfectly fine with the patch notes, sounded like the encounter would be much more forgiving but still retain the same feel, the only worry I had was how much HP they knocked off him. Seems like I was right to worry about that.

    True, it doesn't matter for me. I've already beaten it, it's just another Trail in the Roulette which has had the life sucked out of it, right up down there with Garuda. I imagine it matters for some of my friends who hadn't gotten to it/beaten it but actually enjoy a challenge, though.

    Guess I'm just going to stop recommending XIV based on its story, unless I think "Fetch quests and lifeless instances with zero challenge" would appeal to someone, the story itself might be nice, but I generally play RPGs for the gameplay and story, SE seems intent of gutting the gameplay from the story though. This is quickly becoming a "Play it now or not at all" sort of deal, if you don't get in there and do the content as it comes you can enjoy sleeping through encounters.

    Would have preferred Echo, at least you can cancel that off if you actually want to enjoy the game.

    Go there with a kill group that found it easy even before nerf, doesn't help.

    well maybe what concered SE was the "run" selling groups, a group of people not willing to help anyone, unless it's to their own profit or gain. although we have not seen such a thing in my server, or at least i am not aware of it, but maybe to protect people on other servers from having to pay their gil or buy gill in-order to finish the story because they are not finding a team to do it, or have a decent fc.

    personally i tried steps of faith on the first day in df, we had no clue what todo, we exit after 30m or so. i went to youtube, found out it requires the use of cannons and timing the snare as others said, so i knew this is something i better do with my fc, i left it for a few weeks to do other things.

    oneday, i see a party in pf that needs a healer, as healer is my main i went in, and asked what is to be expected from me, they knew what todo, even the other healer asked me to solo heal to gain more dps and i did that. from a healer standpoint the fight seemed so simple for me, i didnt't feel it any different than any other fight. since i got the clear, i have no reason at all to go back there to try it again, unless a friend ask me for help, but all my friend cleared it anyway so , i never have to go back there again.

    i am glad they put the nerf, because there is a lot of players starting the game some of them can barly do their job, how are they gona be able to see 3.0 story line if they are stuck in this? without someone to guide them, i think its a good idea, it was silly making this fight so complicated , as there is no loot or reward.
