Partly has to do with the fact that unweathered soldiery gear (along with hunts and ST handing these out like hotcakes) is already overgearing the dungeon like crazy.
I really don't see the big problem with SoF getting nerfed. It's part of the story, so naturally it should be accessible enough for players to clear with little to no problem. Sure, practice should be required to get certain mechanics down, but coil-level difficulty should not be a thing in the story, or else it serves as a gate much like T5 and T9 are to the raiders, and the last thing SE needs is a gate to expansion content.
If I die, forgive me. I used to be a Dragoon.
Sastasha HM says hi.Notice how not a single dungeon since PS has been challenging?
Strangely enough, both of the problematic bosses are pirates. I wonder if they're trying to tell ninjas something.

Welp, had enough time to get one try in. We had a clearly apparent imminent wipe early on despite everyone knowing what to do supposedly.
Looks like I won't be clearing this pre-nerf if the nerf hits tonight, disappointing :/
While I myself don't mind it being nerfed a bit...I got a good laugh out of this part. At best its a little under current T5 difficulty which is already nerfed via overgearing/Echo buff and even then in my own opinion it isn't near the difficulty beyond some communication.
Not gonna lie, I thought this was one of the easiest fights they had ever put in.
Only really difficult part is the tank holding everything in place without dying, but if your tank is geared even that isn't a problem. Rest is just dpsing and shooting cannons. >_>
I'm always surprised when I hear people have trouble with it or are outright stuck on it.
In my run, the turtle wrecked us before we could kill it, people got blown up by cannons a few times, and the adds were staying alive too long for some reason. Guess the cannoneers weren't hitting them enough? Not gonna lie, I thought this was one of the easiest fights they had ever put in.

Not sure how it goes typically, but that's what happened to us.
Turtle is probably the hardest part of the fight, though careful stun management and keeping it as close to the front of the boss's hitbox as possible should help. Sam with adds since all but the mini-boss ones (like the turtle) should be getting killed by the cannon fire. Cannon people should of course disengage when the boss is about to destroy them (ideally after getting off another 2-3 shots, but just getting off as soon as it starts charging its cast is good enough.) Of course most of this requires atleast one tank to be on top of their game, or splitting it up between both tanks if needed. In my run, the turtle wrecked us before we could kill it, people got blown up by cannons a few times, and the adds were staying alive too long for some reason. Also for Biasts: Its been said here already but they will always make a beeline for the cannons first and foremost. A good way to stop them is to 1.) Put down the green goo to slow them, then 2.) stun them with the cannon so tanks can easily get them. By the time that's done boss should be back in range for cannon fire.

Turtle can mess stuff up but if a dps uses a stun on it, or even the tank, it's also really easy.
Can also use a cannon stun but since regular ability stuns work I never saw a reason to.
