Ask for FC or friends to tag along, make a PF for it. There's bound to be a plenty of other people willing to tag along with you. Playing it on DF is a game of chance, since you're bound to get crybabies who don't want to handle even the simplest mechanics and instead project the blame to the party members/devs.

    Trial Roulette

I've done steps more than once outside of roulette.
    But when roulette strikes ...

First off, yes, people should ask FCs and do PFs, but should they needed to face immediate disband of the party as soon as they decide to do it through the Duty Finder?
What about those who don't have an FC, or who are new to the game who do not get that group to help with the fight through Party Finder? They are left with the Duty Finder, and that should not be faced with immediate dismissal.

Yes, I agree that the issue with the fight is: "If you forget one mechanic, you're going to have to wait until Vishap has walked aaaaall the way to the end of the stage to try again." - That definitely is one HUGE problem with it, no question about it.

I suggest removing it from Daily Roulette because those people who do Daily Roulette trials are not out for 1 hour of potential wiping, they want their tomes, and they will not do the fight. Keep it in the Duty Finder, remove it from the Duty Roulette.

I've come to the unfortunate conclusion that if you don't participate in new content the first week and weekend your screwed. I missed the Odin Fever and am now missing the Primal Mount Farm Fever. Everyone is now doing The Final Coils and nothing else. And it's very depressing because I'm stuck on T9 and no will help me. :'(

This guy gets it, this is far too common, been there, done that, PF too often doesn't fix this.

And the suggestion to patch a rare minion or pony into it will quite often have someone yelling they want to minion or pony farm, not get you your ****ing clear.

Yeah is a huge issue in FFXIV , that if u miss the initial wave u are out , or have a static that help u ( i helped some of my static to do Steps since i did it on 1 day on DF)and i dont mind helping it takes 5 mins to do that trial.

Outside the first 2 days...no one bothers with main story dungeons and its a shame that its that way because this dungeons has no replay value , same goes for Fight on the Bridge fights , otuside a lucky trial roulette.....

And even then u have PF farming partys with no 100 soldiery , 1 fail = kick , no idea how to fix that

    I agree.

You cannot condition casual people to play faceroll 1-50 duo with your chocobo solo leveling fate content, then force them to group with random hardcore players and expect them to get along.

Casual players, which I admittedly am, "need to stop" expecting hard core level loot drops unless they clear the required content, hardcore players need to stop defining "casual" players as bad.

The suggestion I saw that SE may have to force bad players out of the game to balance difficulty is hilarious, this would be financial suicide for XIV, SE knows it, this is "never" going to happen, casual, bad, good, hardcore, everybody's 13$ and 40$ is the same at the bank for SE.

These storyline clears grouping two totally different play style mindsets together, and then gating the possible sale of a 40$ expansion and perhaps the sub fee as well behind it was a bad idea, plain and simple.

They simply need to have two separate difficulty instances to suit both play styles, with rewards that reflect the effort involved, putting it out and then nerfing it just perpetuates the entitlement, or im better than you BS.

As someone else posted the really difficult content in this game belongs in EX instances as well as content like SCOB, and the rewards should reflect it, they could make storyline well written but no more difficult than the duo with your chocobo content and I doubt most people would really care, "casual or otherwise".

There's nothing to really have SE do for this. If you don't put it in roulette then no one will get it done..maybe in PF? but that is a very long process and this is an easy but fun fight. People quit because of the problems that are currently in this game. And it's not SE...it's the users. Nothing SE can do to fix those things.

Most times I go there I go cannons, and I have my girlfriend tagging along who knows Dragonspear.

My biggest peeve with this fight are tanks who CAN'T. BRING. ADDS. TO. THE. FRONT. EVEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU SCREAM AT THEM IMPLORING HEAVEN AND HELL FOR THEM TO DO IT

If you haven't tanked this yourself, I'd recommend you give it a try. Pulling adds to the front isn't as easy as folks seem to believe.

To start with, whenever odds pop, they pop far apart from one another. Snagging them all with Weapon Throw or Shield Lob takes far too long, so usually tanks will focus on grabbing the big add and wait for the little adds to gather together, usually on the healer. Of course, once they're gathered on the healer, it may take a while to pull them off with Flash or Overwhelm. If your healer is smart, your healer will be pulling all these adds to the front of Vishap. Very often, though, your healer is not smart, and will be lingering behind, spamming cures on themself, or worse running around in a panic trying not to be hit by all the little adds. All of this can add time to how long it takes to gather the adds at the front of Vishap.

A lot of folks have the DPS focus down the big adds, since it takes the cannons so long to kill them and the big adds can do so much harm while they're still alive. This isn't a bad strategy - but the big adds should STILL be pulled to the front of Vishap along with the little adds. If the DPS focus it down and don't move it, the tank may waste time trying to move it to the front of Vishap where it should be.

To sum up, getting the adds to the front of Vishap is a TEAM responsibility, not just the TANK'S responsibility. The tank's job is to hold them there - GETTING them there is on everyone, particularly on the healer since most of the adds will beeline for the healer.

If you, or anyone in your group, has an add beating on them and is wondering why the tank isn't pulling them off, it's because the tank is preoccupied at the center of a swarm of adds at the front of Vishap. Running back to get the one beating on you means pulling that cloud of adds out of cannon range. If you have an add on you, bring it to the tank. Don't wait for the tank to come get it off you.
