The constant disbanding of Steps of Faith

Haha, I just got Steps in trial roulette earlier.

It loaded, someone immediately typed "no thank u", and left.

A new dps joined, the rest of us carried on. We did actually fail the first time (at 1%, he died after the failure cutscene, haha). But the DPS improved the second time and we did it. Faster than the penalty that the random DPS got for leaving...

It's the worst fight in the entire game by a longshot, I was stuck there myself for a while, people don't like to work together in DF that's why its DF, and this quest/whatever this thing is, needs to be a story only npc battle, nobody coordinates in pugs because they don't have to.

The worst part is the 10 mins at the beginning when all these noobs have their heads cut off not knowing who or what is doing who or what, it's honestly a sad fight.

The Limitless Blue hard would love to say a word and will take over the "always have newbies who causes vote abandon after a few wipes".... North America duty finder is so so so so terrible, they can't even clear this simple trial. I am not surprised Steps of Faith is abandoned ASAP, since the 30 minutes or longer you will spend trying to clear it - not worth the aggravation. Read Wiki/Reddit/Forum on instruction, or watch youtube video, it is not that hard to prepare.

I've gotten this a couple times in the roulette... Both times we downed him by around the second gate. I volunteered for DK duty. Not sure why people have so many issues with this fight. Just takes some minor coordination.

I turn into a little drill sergeant whenever I roll into this on my tank in trials. You can clear in 10 minutes as long as someone barks orders and makes sure everyone is on the same page.

Thanks for ressing this thread, I had missed it.
A real lesson in elitism and selfishness by the many posters who had already beaten the trial and feared the nerf which would make it (and Heavensward) accessible to the "undeserving".
One of the many eye openers about human nature.

Not speaking for myself. I was lucky and one-shot the unnerfed Steps.

That is the biggest problem of DF people, most of them either do not listen to what you are trying to explain, forget everything you typed carefully as soon as the battle starts or just plain bad player overall. These are the types who does not know what proper rotation is to maximize DPS, tanks who keeps facing the mob toward their healer and the rest of party members, constantly wiping the party... Steps of Faith is easy if your group understand what their roles need to be, can follow order, and know their proper rotations. Then they all come to Ishgard and we now have to deal with Ravana and Bismarck "normal easy hard" mode - and again, fail failga and more fails. The few who get lucky continue to fester and bringing their "i don't give a shit about learning the mechanics or preparing myself for the fight" attitude, and in turns, happily wiping Alexander "normal piss poor easy" mode, over and over again. Ignorance is a bliss.

You would need at least a cooperation from the rest of your 7 other players, if one or two continue to troll or just plain incompetent, there is not much you can do about this. SE cannot make the content any more easier than it already is for the normal day to day stuffs (you know what I mean, your roulette, XP dungeons, "training" trials for primal, etc..). It is not about being elitist etc.... it is the fact that the good players cannot do anything but typing direction, the newbies still have to do it. Some people should just stick to gathering and crafting though, those rotation is much easier for them. And SE should NOT gate crafting and gathering behind battle content, let those players who only wants to do these to continue on without touching MSQ battle content.

I never wait for Steps of Faith to disband. I just leave this duty immediately upon zoning in.
I don't care if you haven't finished the story - there's no way in heck I'm sitting through this duty again. I have no problem taking the 30 minute lockout.

Actually 30 minutes is nothing, so many stuffs we can do in between, finishing daily hunt logs, gathering, and many other stuffs. Some trials are just not worth the rewards.
