By joining learning groups. There is no paradox in not expecting to be carried and being able to clear content. That's called "carrying your weight" and "not being a burden".if the OP's own logic is consistent, then by admission, they deserve to be expelled or excluded from every group for being new to content because they have not done it 100 times yet, because they aren't "good" yet

hint: how did the OP become 'good' in the first place?
I support OP. I get her point of view.
I just want to add this bit. Player population + server peak times are what affect groups and if they fill or not. Now if it turns out the server pop is too low or you can't play during peak times then you will experience party filling issue. You must resort to fc and ls in the case. If after all you still no win then I guess you will have to sneak or transfer. But I doubt everyone tries what I say and take it into account.

Even Balmung has serious issues filling learning parties, and it's the most populated server :PI just want to add this bit. I wish more people would understand this stuff. Whenever someone calls me an elitist its always like its a bad thing. If someone calls you an elitist, feel proud because there is nothing wrong about striving to be the best. Also Welcome to the team Purrfectstorm enjoy your stay there is cookies and hot beverages.

I support this thread. I too have become someone who has spent most of their 2.x career failing and wiping in TEX and t5 and t9 for months at a time because people can't get good. It was fine at first, but after wiping to the same stuff over and over you start to don a new outlook, something darker. I started getting any experience I could in party finders, I eventually started clearing stuff outside my own static, leaving said static after a short while. I started becoming rude to people, started calling people out for wiping, You could say I started showing signs of what people might call elitism, or just being an all out #@%!.
I got tired of wiping to content with echo, people to this day STILL do sub 400 dps in t9 WITH 20% echo, it's absolute madness. I df old content to help people, I don't vote abandon after 2 wipes, hell, the day after fcob was unlocked I waited 125 minutes in queue for t13 so I could get more blm exp. I cleared it already as a mnk, I just wanted to try it as a blm. Guess how many pulls we got in before people left? 1. One was all it took to get people to leave, no one rejoined and the party died.
In short I read op's claims and relate to what they're saying. #thanksobama
Except there's no difference. People who are good are tired of joining up "experienced clear parties" to find parties where DPS checks aren't being met, basic mechanics that are second nature to us are wiping us because one or two idiots don't know what the hell they're doing, and essentially dealing with mediocrity that thinks they're hot shit when the reality is that we have to try and carry their dead weight.
And hell, even the CASUAL content is driving a wedge between "elitists" and "casuals." Don't believe me? Try doing a few WoD runs where you wipe repeatedly because nobody knows what the hell they're doing. It's like we're back to week one, except nobody's asking for help and just expecting to get carried because they're too damn lazy to learn mechanics.
