They cleared that content with lesser gear and with no echo, they spent days, maybe weeks wiping on it to finally clear it till they got it on farm. They went through all of that, and now, 6 months later when people over gear it and have echo and that guy walks in and says 'how do i do this' they get PTSD.

I think there are a lot of people playing with a chip on their shoulder... But, if I had every class at 50, and went through enough duty finder, I'd probably feel the same way. Maybe people that are so traumatized could take breaks instead of expecting brand new (and yes they are probably even getting a tomestone bonus for the new person) players to have memorized the fight in advance. Sure if it's wipe after wipe that person has to take a gut check which they probably won't.

Yay another free pass for dps! If a tank or healer is undergeared or just bad, everyone sees hate flying around and people dying and they get reamed for it. But if you dare call out the poor dps they get a chance to ban you for it. Unrelated point to OP but sheesh I'm sick of dps getting a free pass on not sucking just because it's not as visible as tank/healer sucking.

What more do you want out of your DF group!? Run dungeons in a speed run static if you are so impatient... All I'm sayin. This wasn't coil or an EX primal, it was Keeper of the Lake.

I don't trick people into anything. If someone decides to start berating someone else for their DPS in DF, I simply ask them to provide specific information. And if they admit to using a parser, I put that into a report for the GMs.

Also it's easy to be nice to nice people. It's easy to be mean to mean people. But it's a 2 wrongs don't make a right type situation. Being a jerk to someone for being a jerk first is still being a jerk, and is still bad, just not as bad as being a jerk unprovoked. Not being rude to someone who was rude to you first takes discipline. But it's worth it. It's not necessarily a responsibility that is required of you, but it's still a good thing to do. Think of it as moral extra credit if that helps.

Edit: There's also a big difference between being delightful to someone, and actively trying to get them banned. I'm not asking you to be best friends with every jerk you meet, just don't sink to their level, and for the love of god don't use someone else's misconduct as a reason to justify your own. You are still responsible for your own actions.

Oh I agree. That's why I explained it in the other post. The actual "elite" people I know in the game are some of the nicest and most helpful people I've met. It's usually the people who think they are better than they are and that they deserve something for thinking so highly of themselves that are the issue. I guess what I am saying is that the "elite" players aren't really the ones who display the pejorative "elitist" mentality.

Reporting someone for breaking the rules is not being rude. I don't harass them, I don't berate them, and I don't threaten them with "ur totes gonne git BANED". I ask a simple question, then smile and nod while they dig their own grave.

I realize you can 'tell' if a dps is drastically underperforming. But there are no real consequences to doing so. Dungeon just takes a min or 2 more to finish. But if a tank or healer underperforming there are wipes and all kinds of crap, and they will get an earful about it. There are no consequences for a bad dps, they just get carried.

That's actually one reason I like raiding. The entire group is responsible for success. Dps checks are actually important and challenging (during progression) and mechanics are punishing enough to wipe the group if the dps aren't performing them properly. But in all other content, a horrid dps just slows you down but never stops you and never has any significant responsibility. It's just not equitable.

Just to be clear: I don't condone this at all. I do plan on reporting the emotes and slapping my character--crap like that. I don't care about the DPS parser though. Just stop being assholes people.
