everyone just uses elitist as some dumb catchall and synonym for jerk. Most of this crap is just trolling, immature people. Leaving a duty roulette 3 sec in doesn't show some sign of superiority complex. They just hate that encounter. trolling in st? Trolls in general? Screaming obscenities? You guys can claim that elitist definition is 'the egotistical approach of players who think themselves superior' all you want, but we all see and know that it's really just used as an insult to call someone an a $$hole without the need of a censor. That's how it's used.

The term has become so overused it has no meaning other than a synonym for jerk. But it is ALSO used synonymously with elite in game and on forums and has become the scapegoat for failing. Look at every QQ thread in general, and like a bastardized Godwin ' law, somehow elitists get blamed and wraps up all elite players into the bundle. Can't beat t5? Elitists. Can't learn titan? Elitists. Materia to pricey? Elitist ruining the market. Rmt tells? Elitist clear sellers. No more housing plots? Elitists buying multiple houses.

The elite already KNOW what the difference between elite and elitist is. But the general public has broadened the term so much that it covers anything they don't like about their experience. Just like 'toxic' and 'white knight' and whatever other flavor of the month insult is flying around. Once a phrase goes viral it gets applied to everything, even when it has little or no relation to the subject.

People have just created a digital 'The Man' and blame any and everything on the elitist Man. Stop blaming other people for your problems. You made 1 part finder after midnight that didn't fill, then cued up 1 time in t9 and you think you've exhausted all your options? 'Wtf am I supposed.to do!? I TRIED!' When the audience you are trying to appeal to spent 5-10 hrs a week for weeks or even months just practicing (making the group in the 1st place is another matter entirely) no, we don't have crap loads of sympathy. You played passively (make pf and sit. Cue df and sit) for all of 2 hours and you want those of us who actually worked foe weeks and months to have a group cry with you? Nope.

People need to actually try before they throw up their hands, come to the forums, beg for nerfs, blame everyone and everything around them but themselves. The Man (elitists) aren't holding anyone back and applying the term to any and everything may make you feel better but it won't actually help you. The trolls don't care you hate them. They are sustained by your rage and tears. The only thing you do by smearing the term around is alienate the actual elites that might help you out.
