    poetic use help

I have about 1400 now. I have a 50 paladin and a 50 warrior. I'm about the same at both so I'm looking for a static with my friend and I decided to main whichever one was in need. I have cleared t10 and 11 as healer but we are starting from 10 together.

My gear is Sold 110 weap, WoD Head, gloves, boots, belt, wootz chest, right side is 130 fending neck and earrings, 110 fending or str other stuff.

So looking at this, I figure I could get 130 chest or pants and head, and an accessory or something, or I could go all out and get a weapon, but I have to decide on one. I've been told a shiva weapon will be ok for t10 and 11 but not enough for t12 or 13. Any advice is much appreciated

I would upgrade weapons first if you have the poetry to spend

This. Unless you plan on getting a tank relic before Heavensward, you should upgrade your weapon.

Since you don't know what class you will be maining until you find a static. Hold off on the weapon (until you know for sure). From there, it comes down to what you want to build your tank as. More of a dps tank (WAR usually) or more of a mitigation tank (PLD usually).

A more dps spec is as follows: POE Head, Dread Body, Dread Gloves, POE Belt, Dread Legs, POE Boots.
A more mitigation spec is as follows: Dread Helm, POE Body, POE Gloves, Dread Belt, POE Legs, Dread Boots.

NOTE: Both of these builds require some ACC on the weapon usually (no melded acc's) to hit t13 ACC cap

After that its about Accessories, If you go WAR you would probably want to invest in the i110 crafted pieces and meld STR or VIT depending on which ones you make. PLD can work just as well with the i110 pieces but usually less expected to have them. A mix of i130 STR or VIT is ok for both classes as well.

Pretty much what Lothar said. If you're unlikely to do T13 soon then I would go for the Poe body. Only difference between that (upgraded) and dread is Poe has parry where dread has determination, so it isn't a major gain or loss either way and is a great piece to get some accuracy for.

After that, just get whatever will allow you to hit the accuracy cap for the content you are doing.

Don't buy accessories, atleast not right away. They give you the smallest gains. Weapons will likely give you the largest ones, and really even the I130 weapon from Tomb/Fiber will last you. This late in the game, I'd just take the weapon and farm a body from WOD. the WOD body gives you better DPS than Ironworks, and WOD gear makes it easier to get a 9 hit Beserk if you choose Warrior (lots of Skill speed there, aim for 376+)

It's a little "Cheaper" to go Paladin, cause the weapon costs only 7 tokens vs. 10... and you can get a shield from turn 12.

In any case... I'd just get a weapon, then make a decision whether you wanna be a PLD or Warrior, and whether you see yourself as an OT or MT. Off Tanks will focus more on giving max dps out at the expense of survivability... (unless you go i110 pentameld accessories)... while Maintanks may value Parry a bit more. ALso generally Warriors value Parry less than Paladin, since Parry + Shield is a little more valuable than Parry alone.

Either way.. Accessories should be your lowest priority... you'll get most of them from turn 10 and 11 anyhow for fending, I'd personally choose a secondary job to loot to get slaying accessories, so you can weave them in when you find a comfortable HP number for your group. (For me 10200 for War solo 10500 party hp w/ Defiance as OT).

PLD isn't cheaper for the weapon. Their weapon is a combination of sword plus shield. It takes 7 for sword but 3 for shield.

In fact, PLD is MORE expensive as to upgrade, you need both a carbontwine for the sword and carboncoat for the shield, whereas other weapons require only the carbontwine.

For accessories, they are expensive to buy but very reasonable if you can craft. Fully melded, Platinum accessories (Vit main stat) add 90 Str. Compared to an iLevel 130 accessory, you lose 30 Vitality but the trade off is well worth it.

Carboncoats are plentiful and free and easily farmable if your past turn 11... and there are many options for shield, including the option to simply wait for the Dreadwyrm shield which drops from turn 12, which sounds like they are on next anyhow. You could have the option to skip the shield... or make due with the i110... or farm the Ice shield for an i115...

So to be more specific.... Paladin CAN be a little "Cheaper" if you chose to immediately upgrade the weapon and hold off on the shield. The gains from shield to shield are pretty minimal anyhow, as is most everything on the right side with exception of pentameld accessories.
