The Egi Conundrum: Heavensward and Beyond!

Let's forget about the faults SMN may or may not have and focus on something good. Future Egi!

So now we are so familiar with the current trio of Egi (Ifrit, Titan, Garuda) and the Heavensward trio (Leviathan, Ramuh, Shiva) looking very likely. I wonder what new Egi will become available beyond this point. Beyond Heavensward and how each one will play/differ from past Egi.

Obviously a number a of new Primals have been revealed for Heavensward (Bismarck, Ravana, Alexander) So can we expect these to be the third trio of Egi? Or something totally different? After all there is also a couple of ARR Primals that could be worthy candidates (Phoenix, Mog). So there is definitely a lot of options regarding future Egi. But the question is, how much can they really differ from each other? Perhaps we will start to see Egi that have a greater focus on support/utility, a Phoenix Egi would certainly be a good candidate for such a role. Perhaps an Alexander Egi could also work in such a manner, along with a tanking focus much like Titan. Of course we may see a support/utility focus in either Leviathan, Ramuh or Shiva since this new trio will need to bring something new to the table also.

There is also the question of Elder Primal Egi (Bahamut, Odin, Belias) and what chances these have of being added to a SMN's repertoire.

Diabolos should probably be among possible candidates as well. As far as beyond goes, I imagine SMN will max out at either 8 or 9 Egis, 7 and 8 being light and dark, and if they choose to, the 9th being Unaspected. Whom they could be is anyone's guess.

Sadly, Diabolos isn't a primal, at least it's never said. I wish he was!
I'd love to have a mini Diabolos or Siren following me around.

Yeah 8 to 9 Egi would make sense. We will definitely get one for each Aspect I'm sure. However in regards to Unaspected Egi in theory you could have multiple ones to aquire. But I guess that all depends on what the ultimate level cap will be.

I guess Unaspected Egi could also be released even after said cap has been reached of course and just simply be "clones" of previous Egi play styles that just have a new model overlay. This in theory could allow SMN to obtain Egi of all Primals without them getting any more or "new" abilities over any other job. These extra Unaspected Egi would essentially be optional Egi you could say. Not sure how viable that idea is in reality but it would be nice for an Egi of every Primal to be available.

I know right! When I first played through the ARR story I thought for sure Siren would be a Primal, as well as Diabolos. Since there isn't much lore on either I guess there is still a chance they could indeed be Primals. They would make great candidates for the light and dark Egi. Though Bismarck or Alexander might have the light attribute covered, I feel Bismarck is more likely going to be unaspected though.

After the Fire, Earth, Wind, Water, Thunder and Ice elements their is Light, Dark and Non Elemental so I suppose will max out at 9 Egis.

You have to remember Elements doesn't mean anything in this game, as Resistance isn't really a thing. When we get new Egi's you have to think more of "What role will they fill". We have a Melee, we have a Caster, we have a Tank. I don't think we'll get 3 Egi's in the expansion, I think we'll get 1 or maybe 2 and it'll probably be Leviathen as he's not an Old Man or a Skinny lady.

Wasn't Levi, Ramuh and Shiva confirmed a long time ago? It'd be hilarious to see a Bismark Egi or a Ravana Egi. Phoenix and Bahamut Egi plz.

I'm fairly certain they were all confirmed or at least hinted at. I'm hearing 6 new job abilities will come with expansion, So Id assume 50-54-58, or 52-56-60 will be the 3 new summons. Really hope one of the other 3 is a Free/Insta Cast of an Egi. Assuming we do get 6 in total, it would be somewhat lame to not have incentive to switch mid battle without having a hit on MP.

They will either make them as Summon IV V and VI, or give us an ability to swap Summon I-II-III from Ruda/Titan/Ifrit > Levi/Ramuh/Shiva. Im doubtful the latter will happen.

Yeah Leviathan, Ramuh and Shiva have been pretty much confirmed. Yoshi-P himself confirmed Leviathan and Ramuh, and hinted at Shiva by saying "a sister clothed in ice who's also quite cute" (the cuteness being a comparison to the "cute" design of Garuda) during an interview a while back. So it seems the Egi will continue to be released in three's and also gives us a vague idea of how the Shiva Egi may look.

I love the look of Bismarck! I really hope for him to have an Egi. Ravana is amazing to of course and since Yoshi-P compared him to Odin I wonder if a Ravana Egi will be the closest we get to an Odin like Egi, but who knows on that front. Considering Ravana is unique to FFXIV it would be odd not to give SMN an Egi of the only FFXIV exclusive Primal. Phoenix would make a great support focused Egi though and perhaps a Bahamut Egi could be the "Final" Egi for when SMN gets maxed.
