Macros for Fishing?

I play on PS4 with keyboard and have found fishing to be quite enjoyable. However, it does get tedious at times and I was wondering if there was macros that would alleviate this. Or would that be considered botting? Hell, I've never used macros so I'm not quite sure how they even work lol.

Short answer - no there aren't any that would be useful as far as I can see. I'm guessing you were looking for something that would automatically reel in once the fish is hooked and then re-cast and start it all over again?

We can't have this feature because bots would abuse it far too easily. While there is still bot abuse, this was at least foreseen as an issue and thus we can't have the feature.

As a side note, I would love to just press one button as a BTN and gather the items from a node, instead of having to click each time to "swing" at the tree.

There is one useful fishing macro that I use all the time.

/macroicon "Hook"
/ac "Hook" <me>
/wait 11
/ac "Mooch" <me>
/wait 1
/ac "Cast" <me>

Hit this when you hook a fish....11 seconds is long enough for any hooking animation. It will then mooch if possible, wait one second for lag, then cast for your next opportunity. One button fishing.

every fish has a time window of x to y seconds after casting when it can bite

if you want to catch a specific fish which bites between 7-9 secs you can use a macro which reels at 9 seconds, so you wont get fish which bites after
9+ seconds

its extremely usefull to nearly always get mooch fish like cloudcutter, silverfish etc.

Oh, sorry. I didn't think of adding quotes, so I replied to the timing of fishing fishies up that I want. More cancelled fishing for unwanted fish means more chances for the actual mooch fish. Which comes to my point that I just count the rod swings/bounces up and down to time the reeling in if it bites.

The above macro is handy if you have vibration on and watch TV at the same time. All you do is click one button when you get all shaky! So yes, it works if you don't care what you're fishing, like example the Luminary rod achievement.

Ok...real noob question here. I play on PS4 but have a keyboard. How do I go about using macros? Do you just type them in the chat bar?
