PS3 to ps4 character transfer question:

I just got my ps4 today. I'm downloading the ps4 version of FFXIV as I'm typing this. I already transferred/uploaded my character data from my PS3 and I think my character data is floating in limbo just waiting for me to grab it and put it on my ps4.

My question is do I need to go to the mogstation and create a new service account in order to play my character on my ps4?

Nope, just turn on your PS4 then click on PS3-PS4 transfer, (on the bottom right of log in page) then log on.

Definitely don't create a new service account, but you do need to make sure the ps4 license is added to your account in the mog station.

Do not create a new service account. The characters on your file is actually linked to your service account. When you upload your character data from the PS3, its mostly uploading the macros and action bar and stuff.

Pretty much your service account has 3 system it can work on, PS3, PS4 and PC (icon will appear next to your account). When you bought your game for PS3, the PS3 Icon for your service account will be flagged. If you bought the PS4 version, then you have to link it to your current service account and it will flag the PS4 account as well. So you can use your service account on BOTH PS3 and PS4, if you upgraded your old PS3 account to PS4 though, you will only be able to have access to the PS4 version.

My account have access to the PC (from the original game), PS3 (bought the new CE edition when ARR was released) and PS4 versions (had an extra PS3 key so upgrade it to PS4 key when they were doing the promotion).

Well you actually don't have to do anything except log into your account on PS4, the transfer only moves your hotbars/gearsets so it something gets messed up you don't really lose anything as your character data is stored on SE servers not your local machine.

Yea tell us what you think after Upgrading from PS3 to PS4, you will never be able to play on the PS3 again. The PS4 version is almost as good as the PC version, graphics are probably similar to a higher end PC, but is locked to 30 FPS.

Omg the game looks F'ing AMAZING on the ps4!!! The frame rate is sooo smooth, I can see the textures in my character's armor, the load times a super fast now, the effects are eye popping and beautiful, and I can actually see a lot of players at once when in mor dohna. I'm NEVER going back to the PS3. (I know I can't due to the transfer)

I'm just so happy that I'm up to par with all PC playing friends. My only grip is all of my HUD settings and character settings got messed up but other than that everything is great. Can't wait to play more!

You have to register it on your already existing account. Don't make a new account.
