    Pros:
    + No longer need 8 people for one person to demolish a smack talker

    Cons:
    - 1 extra game mode, splitting queues up even more than they are already
    - game isnt balanced around 1v1 unless its a mirror match up
    - healer mirror matchups are incredibly boring
    - non mirror match ups vs a healer are incredibly boring and a free win for the healer if he has a brain
    - will most likely introduce the "1v1 me bro" egotistical players who arn't skilled in team matches, generally bringing with them a very toxic and vocal way of thinking

    Over 90% of class skills primarily effect the flow of damage, either incoming or outgoing, or resources used to effect the flow of damage. Since damage and resources are factors in PvP as much as they are in PvE, these class skills are fine. The only skills that won't do anything in PvP are Enmity-management skills. And maybe Defense/Magic Defense skills if they follow the standards they've set so far, since that set of stats is turned off in all current PvP.

    Even disregarding that, this has nothing to do with the post you quoted, so I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say by this.

    Absolutely not...unless the duel system is, unfortunately, made into a queued match. When I talk about dueling, I mean open-world challenge-a-guy-and-fight dueling, not queued 1v1. Not only would that split up the PvP population into even further categories, but that would also disallow dueling while in queues for other content. Part of the appeal of dueling is its quick and whimsical nature which doesn't intrude on other forms of content (such as queues).

    If the dueling system is not a queue, as I hope it is open-world, then the class restriction should not be. If the dueling system is a queue, then two people who are not the same class should be able to queue as a party in order to face off against one another. At least then you'll be able to duel friends or other classes.

    I loved 1v1 in DC Universe Online. However, the combat in FF14 is WAYYYYYY slower and some jobs will destroy others fast 1v1. I don't think it has a place here simply because of combat speed.

    As far as balance... true fairness would only come from fighting someone of the same job, regardless of future tweaks. The rest would be just to test things and learn how to deal with or survive longer against certain jobs.

    Just don't keep any sort of record of win/loss or standings and people may be less inclined to take it too seriously.

    People asking SE for dueling capabilities is a pretty common topic in this forum. I'd like to see dueling in this game in the future and I personally don't care about balancing for duels. Some classes act as counter-classes for other classes so you get the whole rock beats paper beats scissors loop all over again. There's similar balancing "issues" in other MMO's as well such as WoW, and I don't think balancing classes for duels is a requirement because its purely recreational.

    Meh, if 1V1 were to exist, I say they get rid of the Job switching in combat restrictions and allow us to change in mid battle :U

    Class imbalance? TO HELL WITH IT!! Just keep switching like a pokemon!

    I would like it just so we get to PvP constantly. Having to wait for matches in FL or WD is a bore.

    Also a source of constant marks or EXP even if only a little bit would be nice. More options to get either is always welcome~

    +1. I kinda just want to 1v1 for fun. I don't care about ranking/balance/rewards, just let me challenge someone for a 1v1 for shits and giggles. Like for example, it'll be fun to challenge FC members for who has to clean the stables the coming week, or who gets to open chests, etc.
