So lets talk about the nvidia logo on the benchmark

ok, i'll start off, i personally have NO problem with it.

I have been going back and forth as to why my system:

    FX 8320e 8core
    8gb HD
    R9 280x
    SSD

That i can score a 11k on max, but only rack in a 6500 on this bench seemed like something was off.

It dawned on me that this game favors nvidia. it became painfully obvious with the logo on the bench. the game still has issues with memory leaks and crashes from ati drivers, and yet, instead of fixing it, they partner up to show some extra love to nvidia?

11k on max? Are you talking about the original benchmark for FFXIV ARR? I have an nvidia GTX 780 titan black, FX8320, kingston hyper X ssd, and 8GB of ram(DDR31600) and my score on DX11 max @ 1080p was 7027.

Your CPU is a big bottleneck for your GTX 780 (780 or TITAN?).
7027 is a score for a GTX 760, instead 8000 for GTX 770. You can easily go over 13k with a TITAN or 980ti, but you need to upgrade your CPU (you want an intel i5 or i7 overclocked).

    ya 2.0 bench.

i think maybe the bench might be calculated differently. maybe 7k is the arr 11k

but we have something in common, our cpu are almost the same. im gonna bump it to a 8350 tomorrow and see if the extra 800mhz makes the diff

It is. I don't remember what specifically it said, but supposedly the original one only measured your GPU or something framerate whereas the Heavensward one measures more than that (more overall computer performance). 7k is the "Extremely High Performance" score in this benchmark.

We strongly recommend using the latest benchmark software to more accurately measure the performance of your PC.
I was looking for this on the benchmark site and not the lodestone. That explains why I couldn't find it.

Did you forget already that the original ARR launch was as an AMD Gaming Evolved title?

The Nvidia GameWorks logo is because Nvidia helped Squenix implement HBAO+ using the GW middleware framework. HBAO+ works on AMD cards so you're welcome for the free feature even though you don't have Nvidia.

If AMD's drivers are crap and have memory leaks and crashes that's hardly Squenix's fault. The game works perfectly on Nvidia cards and always has even when it had the AMD Gaming Evolved logo on it instead of the Nvidia GameWorks logo.

if it works "perfectly" why does the bench seem to score higher on nvidia cards over ati cards?

and no i dont dread anything, im not a fan boy of either card. id prefer using the card i already own than having to buy a new nvidia card that is the same quality of the card i already own just so i can maximize the games quality

But you can't deny that AMD drivers are shit though.

They still haven't fix the driver issue for 290 (non-X). I'm still using the 1st version driver because the later updates will cause my 3rd monitor not to be detected.

AMD gaming evolved is not anything that will improve the game its basically the AMD version of Geforce experience, except its surgested settings are crowd sourced instead of Nvidia's which is manufactuer sourced ( this could have changed though i admit ).

If it had launched with Mantle then you might be on point, the only thing AMD has done for this game is have a working Crossfire/SLI whichever you want to call it before Nvidia did, but that was so long ago its not even worth mentioning. Here is a great article someone posted on reddit which would explain alot of the fuss over this.
