According to Mr.Happy. He said on his stream tonight that it's been confirmed that the horns are linked to the face in the expansion. Don't know where he heard that, but he's normally pretty good with that stuff.

I feel like that's fairly obvious though...? They are not going to change something as major as that before the game comes out. Character creation MIGHT get a few tweaks, but completely re-doing the horn system is not a tweak. I'm not really sure what the point of this thread even is - yes people want it, but it's not going to happen. There's not enough time. All races have things that are linked to face type, for Au Ra, it's horns.
Is it ideal what for the type of character people want to make? No, but it is what is is.

4 combos is simply not enough choice!
I can see it now...
Patch 3.0.011
- Au' Ra horn style is no longer tied to faces, when creating a character, players will now be able to choose their horn style from a separate menu.
But the real kick in the face will be that you can't change the horn design without burning a Fantasia.
Customization options for this race are too little to begin with so the limitations with the horns and scales, are just silly. I bet it has something to do with consoles and space to be honest... I have a feeling eventually players will get upset with how this game is constantly limited by consoles, but we'll see.
Anyways.... /signed!
Let's make that just THREE likely choices. WHO is going too want to pick the last male face...good grief, the poor guy looks like Sad Sack, Mr. Ed and a clown all rolled into one...I want to point out that this is situational irony, where-in the 4 faces are currently locked to 4 combinations with various tweaks, where-as separation of horn and face would open more diversity therefore creating more than 4 combinations with various tweaks. It is for the latter that I agree SE should unlock this feature for players to create a more diverse race (as was more or less promised to players.)![]()

Actually, that wouldn't be surprising in the least.I can see it now...

If it's a matter of data limitation, I'd rather we get stuck with the same tails and have customization horns.
I think it's a combination of low end PC and PS3 users, since games normally try to get the "norm" in terms of PC users. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that a good 30-40% of PC users either just barely make the benchmark or don't make it at all. PS4 should be completely fine with the new expansion, and really I don't think this game will ever actually be "limited" by consoles since they will eventually phase out the previous obsolete console, where as players will still play the game on their obsolete PCs.Customization options for this race are too little to begin with so the limitations with the horns and scales, are just silly. Just to say, support for PS3 is being dropped. My friend used my PS3 CE code and recently had to switch over to PS4 since they would no longer be able to play it on PS3.
EDIT: Bah never mind, they're thinking of dropping support down the line.
