    to the few people who i have seen on reddit and on here saying, "why should they make horns and faces separate just because you wanna look cute." heres a counter point against that.

    keeping the faces and horns tied togeaver will shorten the amount of creative freedom people have with the race, and not just that, but visually most au ra will fall into the 'cookie cutter' category, When looking at another player the eye is drawn at different unique points about the model to see what race the player is, (Hight is not one of them unless your a male roe or lalafell.) Using miqote as an example to this point, most will look for the ears failing that they will look for the tail, for the au ra the most distinguishing features is the horns and the tail.

    now this said, miqote can chose what tail they want out of nearly 8 choices, but now imagine if i told you the tails are locked to the faces you have to choose from so instead of 8 it is 4, and those 4 you cannot change at all, they are all the same, suddenly a lot of people will lose the feeling of uniqueness with there character, because of the higher chance of finding a clone of yourself, and this creates a detachment from the character. (which for rp is bad.)

    so allowing the aura to freely chose there horns will open up the characters, even if it stays these 4 horn choices with no extra parts attached thats 16 possible combanations instead of 4, plus there 4 tails that moves up to 64 possible combinations. (not including tail length.)
    Miqote currently have 4 faces with 8 tails meaning they have 52 possible combinations of faces with tails.

    these numbers become much larger when the hair is taken into account, i think currently there is approximately 20 hairstyles in the game to choose from so that would make aprox 1280 au ra combinations with the choice of faces, horns, tails and hair.
    and aprox 1040 miqote with tails, face and hair.

    if the horns and the faces stayed locked the au ra would only have 320 different possible combinations, (counting the hair) that is a major gap in difference.

    so please think of it this way would you rather see thousands of different looking au ra, or thousands of the same au ra running around?

    One major thing I can see causing an issue with SE addressing this is the fact that scale options are linked to horns, as well as faces. So, you have scale options that are solely made to fit a certain face model and complement the scales they already have, but, they also have options for horns in the same tab. If they made the horns interchangeable, they would have to either make it so that horn option under scales changes if you swap horns, or remove the option to customize the horns with the metal caps and the like entirely. I'm no programmer, so, I don't know what they'd have to go through to sort everything properly in regards to that.



    To me, that reason alone is sort of indicative of their idea of keeping the horns linked to faces, since scale options are a face-by-face basis. Suffice it to say, I'd much rather have greater horn customization and lose the ability to tweak them slightly, or for them to figure out a way to make those options interchangeable depending on the face and horn combination you chose. If anything, it'd just be another layer of coding I suppose to swap out that single option.

    Here's hoping they're allow us that extra step of customization.

    I whole HEARTEDLY sign this. I love the faces and the horns but yes, very underwhelmed that they are so static in choice. Especially since the scales don't change color with skin tone, we should definitely have a choice of horns separate from face!

    Also, I keep trying to make that "MUST-USE-THIS-ONE" look for Au Ra and I can't seem to get the combo I want without being able to change the horns!

    Technically it wouldn't even need to be moved into a subsection with horns, it could just stay in facial options as "click here for clasps on whatever horn you chose."

    True. Check Clasps on and game checks to see which horn you have and adds it. Didn't think of that lol.

    Has anyone mentioned this yet? Yugiri seems to be face 3 (bottom left) but her horns are horns from face 1. She's kinda similar to Moenbryda (someone pointed out her mixed roe features) in that respect. This can only mean one thing.

    Yugiri is going to die in HW.
