thats what I did for my cheap PC (which is why I said parts maybe you missed that) but stuff like GPU's arent cheap so when he is saying he built his PC and gets 8k for the same cost of a PS4 (which launched at $400) I am curious what parts and where he got them.
For example my build is i7 3770k (last generation on clearance pricing) CPU is $250 and my gtx 660 gpu (quite old) is $180 that alone is already $430, thats before the RAM PSU motherboard and HDD and I only get just shy of 5k on max.
If for $350-400 I can build a brand new PC that will get that much better performance I am curious as to how so I can look into actually doing it otherwise I find the hyperbole to be a bit misleading which may deter people from even trying to build a gaming PC who feel like they are being ripped off after being told its going to cost $350 and they find out its really 600-700 for an average setup (not even a good setup).
I am not picky about playing on the best settings and I enjoy the game on both PC PS4 and even my tablet and I have no bias between 1 system or the other they all do the same thing.
They probably just over exaggerated. People (shouldn't) be silly enough to believe that a self-built PC is actually in the price range of 400 dollars. The point is, if you have you a PS4, you're clearly not in dire straits. Even if it was just a gift, or whatever, you've got that, and you're paying a sub-fee for the game. That alone can tell someone that you have the money to pay for some access to a PC, whether self-built, store purchased, rented, or otherwise. In this day and age, it's hard to believe some people above 20 don't have a computer (for college/work), but do have a tablet, and a PS4.
I bought a refurbished gtx660 card off newegg for like 100 bucks. The rest was all cheap stuff that was on sale, newegg and ebay are awesome when you are looking for cheap parts. Ebay especially since people are always upgrading their machines and looking to get a little bit of value back for their old parts. I have yet to have a negative experience buying refurbished/used parts off ebay. I believe the total came to like 402.58 or something like that, which was less than my ps4+game+controller was on launch day.I am very curious how you built a PC that pulls 8k at max when my cheap PC that pulls 5-6k cost like 50% more than I paid for my PS4 (600ish before taxes and shipping for pc parts not including case over $350 for my PS4) using on sale parts (ordered from the cheapest REPUTABLE sites) that are outdated (what with even a GTX660 costing just under half the price of a PS4 and lets be real at that point spend the extra $20-30 to get a 960) <.<
not starting a console vs pc thing here I am just legitimately curious as I may be interested in upgrading if its going to be less than $350 for all the parts for a full PC (minus the case of course I can just keep reusing mine until it rusts for all I care its just a box) thats going to run the game almost 30% better

Pretty much. And assembling a computer (as long as you're not doing weird stuff like liquid cooling) is basically just connecting modules... there's youtube videos on it. "Plug and play."
But for those that don't want to dabble with it... Buy a workstation PC, plug in a $100 graphics card, bam budget gaming PC. Or even a $60 card if you don't mind lower graphics settings.
I get that it would require a lot of resources that are best used elsewhere, but it would be lovely if they could have made just a character creation tool we could have downloaded from the PSN store.
We don't need the benchmark as we know its made to play on the PS3/4. It would just be nice to be given the option to play around with the Au'Ra. Or have it patched into the start screen.
My craptop can't run the benchmark which means it can't run the character creator. It's a bit disappointing but what can you do? Like a bunch of other console players I'm just going to have to wait until June to make an Au'Ra. Patience is a virtue that I lack but I'll just have to be for now.
I think going forward this would be an acceptable solution for them. There seems to be a large demand for something like this why not at least give you guys the option to use the character creator.I get that it would require a lot of resources that are best used elsewhere, but it would be lovely if they could have made just a character creation tool we could have downloaded from the PSN store.
