First people complained about how Au Ra was Elezen with horns and scales, and now people wan't to get rid of as much scales as possible which in the end would only lead more towards them looking like Elezen.

They don't even resemble scales so I don't get why it even matters. Also, the "scales" look fine everywhere else, but the chin-strap is overkill. Looks dumb as hell.

I for one find the chin-strap the best part of them.

Until I see something official to me they are kin to dragons since the concept art that they have shown says Dragon Race on it.

As far as I'm aware that came from a reddit post that said he said that after the nico live letter when they weren't recording. Who knows it that's true or not? As for the Heavensward lore. It just says scholars debate weather they are descended from dragons or not. Which if there is a debate means some scholars must think they are descended from dragons.

If their motif is demon or dragon they did a meh job at on both but look more dragon to me. Upclose some scales look so low-res it's not even funny.
They kinda looks like a skin disorder. :/ I mean eh...like patches of dry skin on some models and random scale on the females forehead is weird. The tail and horns are the best part...
but some of them barely look like scales at all...it's kinda a mix. I dunno, I still LOVE the female Au ra but some of the scales are kinda off to me...
