    Hollowed Ground

Is it just me or does hollowed ground require a second or a third press of the button to activate? Never had this problem with any other move, also have a new keyboard and seems pretty accurate. Occurs in any fight or anytime when it is immediatly needed, will have to press 2 to 3 times to activate when its needed in emergency. Anyone else seen this happen??????

Pressing it once is usually enough. The problem comes from animation lock. If you are currently in a animation, Hallowed usually wont go off until that animation is done. Also, even if Hallowed does go off, it roughly doesn't take effect until the animation for it actually finishes. So a lot of the times you will press Hollowed and still get hit 1-3 times before you actually become invulnerable. Worst case, you pop Hallowed and it doesn't save you, you die, yet the cool down is still active.

Yes, it comes down to the super long delay between when you press the button, and when it takes effect; in the case of hallowed ground, i think there is about 1.5 seconds between the two.

Hallowed ground is an extremely powerful ability, one of the most powerful in the game, truly, but it is a tactical nuke, not a panic button. Best uses are more often than not planned in advance to completely trivialize some part of the fight; used in emergency, it is is quite ineffective most times.

On the otherhand, every time I get Holmgang just right I feel like a ****ing legend. Hallowed Ground just makes me want to play benny hill XD.

Bout to fall off from a Levi slam, nail that holmgang, and for just a fraction you see fear in it's eyes. Pop Tempered Will and he just looks at you like a dick.

Holmgang is super usefull and completely misunderstood by the vast majority of the tanks that could use it. It really doesn't deserve the bad rep it is getting. It requires coordination and communication with your healers, but it is a tool with a 3 min CD that allows you to survive any tank buster, more or less. Yeah, it is nowhere near as usefull as hallowed ground, for sure, but that is not because holmgang is a bad ability, it's because hallowed ground is completely broken.

I'd agree that hallowed is very powerful. To balance that you need to use it as planned not as a reaction. The animation is long enough that you can easily die before the invulnerability pops.

I don't know that I would call it broken though. Its not instant, lasts 10 seconds, and has a fairly long cooldown timer (5 minutes).

I'm not complaining at all cause its awesome, but i don't know that I would call it broken.

Well, I understand the delay of taking effect, but my point is more about knowing if its ever been pressed at all. Even though it's not effective instantly, it would be more helpful if I felt it was working at all, instead of after the delay. Being a action not used often (hardly ever for me) I have not noticed this with any other's except HG. For me it is only used if I know there is no hope to survive, which is usually very quick.

That's the thing though. This is the wrong use of the skill. While it would seem that this is the best use, it is not, because of this delay.

What it is usefull for instead, is when you know that a part of the fight is difficult due to damage and healing, you plan for it and use it, and transform this hard part into a very easy part. It can completely change the face of an encounter and allow your group to progress much faster and much more consistently.
