RMT - I'm done with this game

Well it seems you play on a server that is a bit more lucky with "less" RMT... On Goblin i blacklist 10-30 each hour and i play a lot during the day. Not to mention all the friend requests from Wanttosell Gildotcom (no real name, just similar). We have lots of FC's with exactly 18 members. 2x lvl 1 and 16x lvl50 blackmages. They farm dungeons, they claim monsters in the field, warping around underground. I see tons of mining bots that i have reported over and over again and i run into them every day, no matter what time i go dig up my map. Sometimes i believe there are more bots hanging around on my server than real players :/

Maybe you should consider moving servers then, the issue here is more so the fact if there was no room for profit they wouldn't still be around, it's 2 years after release and is a pay to play subscription game. Meaning the people on your server are feeding them and causing them to be even more tenacious than usual. It's sad but the root of the cancer isn't the bots and spammers, it's the idiots willing to pull out their wallet and buy some easy gil and ruining it for the rest of us.

My fix to this is /busy. I use /away to unbusy myself for people to invite me and converse through Linkshell or FC channels. If I need to be contacted, friends send mail.

Though it is inconvenient, it's a small work around. I'm just thankful we don't have them spamming /shout /yell and /say like there is no tomorrow @_@

Hmm, I'm not sure the Death Note would work on in-game characters. And you don't know the spammers' real names... so maybe a Ban Hammer would be a more useful weapon, in this case.

I already moved once from Ragnarok to Goblin to play with friends... And since i own a medium house i am not willing to give that up and earn all that money again :/

I just counted 44 (!!) RMT Blackmages... i did not count the lvl 1 RMT standing around in Uldah... And i did not count the mining bots... It is ridiculous :'(

On the MB the problem goes on... Real ppl fighting RMT dumb the prices, RMT fight real ppl undercut them... Prices are falling like crazy... Sometimes i put an item up on the MB for like 100k, an hour later its down to 40k... That is life on Goblin and i doubt anything will change (like i said... i report these mining bots again and again and they are always there)

While there probably is more that can be done about RMT (and hopefully said actions will be coming sooner than later)...OP shot themselves in the foot with their actions earlier and pretty much everyone who was here saw it comin. More so since they went ahead and put up names as well. Yes it was bot names, but then we play by the rules unlike them damn dirty bots.

Get the tell sound and be all like
someone wanna get stuff crafted! Time to make gil.
Then i look behind my crafting window and see a big fat rmt tell.
My face goes from -> -> :/ -> :| -> :| -> :]
Then i go like ofc silly me, then proceed to take the 24/7 busy status journey.
Before i do ANYTHING after logging in i quickly put busy status on lol.

Busy while gathering
Busy while traveling
Busy while waiting for DF q
Busy while talking in say/ or fc/
Busy while raiding/ dungeons
Busy while playing TT
Busy while afk

Busy status the only way to stop friend requests and tell spams.
I miss talking in /tell but what can we do lol.

Compared to launch what we have today is nothing, I have just learned to ignore /tells and more often than not im on /busy, cause frankly no one I know talks in /tells anyway. rmt are a fact of life in an mmo and you learn to adapt and ignore them or let them bother you and ruin your day. I opt to enjoy the game and ignore them. I don't even blist anymore cause its not often you get more than 1 tell from a rmt bot anyway.

What people are not realizing is that RMT are not the problem. The real problem are the people who buy the gil and keep them in business. Don't be scared to report someone if they are openly talking about buying or selling gil but remember gil is relatively easy to come by in this game so not everyone with a large amount is buying it. There are plenty of legit ways to become a gilionaire, its the lazy people who don't think its worth time to put effort into anything that tend to buy gil.
