People were moaning about it at 2.0 beta, but the devs said we'd see improvements with DX11, unfortunately that hasn't happened so it has sparked up again.
As I recall, the only mention of an additional anti-aliasing support was the possibility of SSAA, though it was unlikely due to the demanding cost implementing it would incur. I don't recall any mention of what a DX11 client would include from the developers. Though there was endless speculation from the community about it.
Would I like to see more AA options supported? Of course. But I think it's unfair to tell the developers they should implement MSAA, SSAO, or other Anti-Aliasing methods to their rendering engine just because we believe it's easily doable. Perhaps they will add further AA options in a future update. All we can do is cross our toes and hope.![]()
Squenix takes pride in graphics; they always have. "Better than nothing" isn't the position we should have on something like AA, which is prevalent in PC gaming and provides perhaps the most significant improvement to visual fidelity.
I would rather have
than a smeared oil painting. They can do better.
Ermagwd, Dem grfix r krap!

I have to agree with a lot of what is said here. I love this game so much but the anti-aliasing is non existent, and it really detracts from gameplay when things in front of you move and squiggle by themselves. Also there was never any mention of hardware AA since the launch of ARR that is why this thread exists. Try and be civilized about this, yes the anti aliasing is probably the worst I've ever seen in a video game. But being anything other than civilized isn't going to help out the situation.
Where is the thread about the grass? Someone should bring that up again lol.
lol about the grass...that was one of the many things I shut off to get a Standard score on the laptop I use (see Benchmark Scores thread).
I don't know why but this thread makes me so happy for my putt-putt car of a laptop (in the case of the expansion).
Pictures of scores in this post (pictured scores are with chrome running in the background, text scores are without a single thing running):

Though I'm wondering if I should take that score with a grain of salt because it might be different when I play...than viewing a premade character work it's way through a benchmark program.

My friend recruitment codes (I put it here because in the thread it just gets out dated quickly by new posts):
My code(1): HVTRTX6P (Unused)
My code(2): RAJHW2J3 (Unused, but could be invalid at this point)
The good thing about pc though is you always have the option to turn stuff off ^~^
And if OP could add some better images for comparison in XIV it would help a lot. Some things actually squiggle and move in this game due to FXAA, could you possibly try and capture some of those for reference?
I really is disappointing to see that Even with a DX11 client the dev team didn't bother with doing anything about aliasing issues in the game. All the wonderful work of the graphic artists seem somewhat wasted.
