Comparing FFXIV to Cyber Punk 2077... I want to believe you're trolling- but I can only assume you aren't.

No you are misunderstanding my point, they are both MMOs and while FFXIV will never look anywhere as good as Cyberpunk, when competition is released the best stratergy is to release something at the same time to distract your playerbase. Its also a good idea to minimize the greatest weakness in a product.

Cyberpunk is gonna be an mmo? last i heard it was a single player game with MP elements, not so much an actual mmo. >.>No you are misunderstanding my point, they are both MMOs and while FFXIV will never look anywhere as good as Cyberpunk, when competition is released the best stratergy is to release something at the same time to distract your playerbase. I wish they would implement an internal resolution scaler so I can adjust the 3D resolution without switching to Full Screen or adjusting HUD elements. I don't mind FXAA in this game and it works well with a higher resolution to eliminate shimmer.
Is Endwalker going to get any support for different anti-aliasing techniques? Are we going to get DLSS?
I have suggested some better antialiasing options in the german forums 2 years ago. But there is still no feedback. FXAA is one of the worst antialiasing options one can have. It blurrs the polygon edges only. It looks only good on screenshots. You have still shimmering when you have movement on the screen, alphatest textures will not be antialiased at all etc. The only good thing is, it is very fast because blurring edges is very cheap.
Cheers
FF14 uses a deferred rendering technique so hardware AA is out of the question
