Au'Ra Character Creation *Complaint* Please make horns a separate option!

Dear Devs,

I have used the new HW benchmark, mainly to fiddle around with the new race Au'Ra.

I am loving everything so far and I can't wait for the expansion!

Only thing that I am truly disappointed in is the fact that you cannot change the horns without having to change face type. I don't know what the reasoning for this is (maybe lore?), but it just so happens that the face type that I want has a horn that I don't like. I'm sure there are others out there who think the same thing.

I find everything else fine (maybe even the scales could have more variety).

But I want to request one change and that is to make the horns a separate option!

You do know every race has different features for different face types right they'd need to do that for all of them not just the Au Ra

That's actual facial features. Horns are NOT a FACIAL feature.　Au'Ra already have facial features with different types of scales、similar to Miqo'tes different tattoos. That would be unique to different face types.

But horns are different, there are not part of 'face'. Thus it should be different.

Technically, the are part of an Au Ra's head. In specific, the horns are the ears. While horns being 'stuck' to a certain race might not be ideal, Dererk does make a good point. By allowing horns and faces to be separate it adds further customization for just one race, and in order to satisify everyone playing difference races, they would have to find another aspect to add further customization.

Yes, you can change ears on a Lalafell and Elezen. Yes you can change tails on a Miq'ote. SE took the route of the Miq'ote and gave you the different tails and not horns. Furthermore, Miqu'ote, Lalafells, Elezen, and now, Au Ra has the same number of customization options at 22 (including voice) for female and 21 for Males. Hyurs (Mid- and Highlanders) only have 21 and 20 respectively. By giving the Au Ra 23 ways of being customizable, there are bound to get people upset - especially those that are not playing an Au Ra once Heavensward comes out.

Please, Please, PLEASE for the love of Hydaelyn and everything that's holy... I hope for 3.0 launch the horns are a separate customizable option. I get that they're half dragons (or something), but oh dear God... the horns take away from everything else and I only like some horn options with certain face options. In fact, there should be some Kimahri type stuff going on where some horn options are gone, or damaged, I think. They ARE a very tribal people... there's bound to be a couple Au Ra that don't play by the rules...

The horns are a pretty major feature for Au Ra, though. It's not even adding an option, it's separating it from the face so that players aren't punished for using a face that they like with a pair of horns that they don't like. I could see this leading to people only settling on a couple of faces because they have to find a middle ground between decent horns and a decent face

I don't even plan on playing Au Ra, but I really hope that they consider separating the horns from the face. I was really frustrated that I couldn't change the horns independent of the face in the benchmark, I can only imagine how much it would suck for the people who DO play the race.

I don't agree with this at all. The Miqo'te stripes was brought up a long time ago, but wasn't nearly as bad as the horn options are currently. I sincerely hope SE changes this, because everyone that plays AuRa is gonna have a serious case of same face.


In responce to "to many changable things" other races don't have much more they can do honestly. What else would you add to hyur? they have given everyone the same number of options per category, but not the same number of categorys, but what would you add to hyur, or elezen or roe? I can't think of anything. And if people are SERIOSULY gonna be upset over to much customization.. well, I don't even know what to think, its just silly....

Yoshida himself once said, Au'Ra will have many customizable options. Many people such as myself looked forward to the horns, which made Au'Ra unique.

If you also consider the fact that the 2 different Au'Ra clans don't look different at all, other than white/black scales it doesn't make sense at all.

I was one of those people who was going to immediately switch to Au'Ra at pre-launch, if they don't do something about this... I'd rather stick with my kitty.
