Just get a better graphics card.
The GTX 960 or AMD R9 280 would be a good combo with your current system.
The R7 series of graphics cards are more for java based games.

Well, dropping it down to 1280x720 from 1920x1080 (which played XIV perfectly fine with no fps issues until 2.2), seemed to fix a majority of the fps issues. Presets being pretty much max with only 2-3 things turned off/set to normal. Odd thing is, I got a much higher score with dx11 than I did with dx9 with the same settings o.O

Depending on your video card, it's actually not odd at all. A newer video card built for DX11 will be able to provide better hardware optimization for the DX11 client than it does the older DX9 technology.Well, dropping it down to 1280x720 from 1920x1080 (which played XIV perfectly fine with no fps issues until 2.2), seemed to fix a majority of the fps issues. I got a score of 7634 with maximum 1080p settings on the DX11 client. GTX 770 and an i7 4770K.

I'm surprised on mine to be honest. o_o
YAY! I didn't think I'd run it at all lol.
I may just stick with Dx9 to play safe.
I'll see how it goes though.

ok i cant figure this out. The 2.0 bench popped a 11k score for my setup.
FX 8320e, 8gb ram, SSD, r9 280x
But same settings in d11 and i score a 6500? Is the game now more cpu intensive? or do i need to update my ati drivers? Maybe the boost is mainly from nvidia cards are liked d11 more

Tried it on my laptop.
Preset: Standard (Laptop)
1920x1080 full screen
i7@2.20GHz
AMD Radeon HD7500M (2Gb)
Directx 9
Score: 2649
Then I had updated the AMD drivers, and got a score of 2638, so nothing changed overall
The last part of the benchmark gave me 13 fps on fights for some time, will have to tune down resolution or turn off everything to get playable fps on that situations.
Despite the HD7500M marketed as supporting it, Directx 11 gives a totally unplayable experience, with fps fropping below 10 quite often. I guess DX11 on this card were only a marketing claim, but really nothing supported on hardware here.
On almost all the benchmark, fps were two or three times lower the DX9 one.
Score on DX11 (and same settings as used on DX9) is 1858.

This thread is good only for E-peen stroking.![]()

If your fps stay above 30, you can happily play the game, that is essentially a PvE game.
If you want do serious PvP or graphical satisfaction on how beautiful the game is, then 60 fps is the way to go. But as I said, it is for serious business: if your goal is play the game, your goal are 30 fps on lower peak.
And yes, thread as this are a good call for braggin' about have monsters PC![]()
1653 Slightly low
Screw you! I am ready to play![]()
