What I'm wondering is whether Normal Mode Alexander will be similar in content to Savage Mode, but with the lethal attacks nerfed to survivable levels? I'd like to see Normal Mode Alexander as a viable method for practicing the mechanics of Savage Mode Alexander. How nice would it have been to have a Normal Mode Coil, where you could practice a Twintania where things like Cyclones reduced you to low HP but didn't kill you? A way to practice the various phases of the fight with more room for error and lesser rewards?

In my opinion, SE really missed a great opportunity when they designed the story mode Leviathan, Ramuh, and Shiva fights. While I understand that it's necessary to make these fights puggable so that players can advance through the main scenario, it would still have been a great opportunity to guide people towards the things they should and should not do during the fight. On Shiva, for example, Icebrand should work the same way as it does in Extreme, but deal less damage; maybe enough to kill an undergeared tank who eats it solo, and critically injure a well-geared tank - something to teach newer players that yes, it's important to point Icebrand at the party. Right now, the only mechanic these fights teach is the method to avoid wiping to the Primal's ultimate attack - everything else the primal does is a slap on the wrist.
