It'll be the ilvl of Esoteric gear, not upgraded. There would be no point in putting it on a lockout if it's the same ilvl as the normal, farmable currency gear.

As an example:

Law: ilvl10
Esoteric: ilvl20
Alex NM: ilvl20
Upgraded Esoteric: ilvl30
Alex Savage: ilvl30
