It will be ok. And that music is still played its just near the dangerous camps now.I fail to see how removing functionality makes the game better. I only see the restriction of attributes. I could have cared less if my over all attributes were tied to the job. But it was nice having a mage that could actually give a meaty thwack. Though the ability to thwack an enemy is almost gone and now to the elements are also going away. I concentrated my power on Fire and Thunder meaning anything with thunder attribute had little effect on me and I could easily take down enemies with a water type attribute. Though some how my ice power is pretty strong too.
What I am seeing is this return to the Over balancing thing. This desperate attempt to perhaps justify ones jobs long after they had expired. FFXI refined and refined the jobs. Making them so perfect that it mattered not what job you took. You were one of 4 jobs, DD, WM, Tank, BM. DD and Tanks were Royalty over Mages though over all combined power was the same. I will not play another FFXI game as a 3rd class citizen. I will not play a game that likes to cheer or individuality while quietly trying to remove all traces of it.
I'll say it again. making FFXIV to be just like FFXI is a disaster in the making. But it seems that we must fall on our faces twice before we will listen to warnings of our shoes being untied.
Ohh ya and who messed with the Twilight music in Gridandia forests. It was cool and mystic now it's... something else.
