Request: A Taste of Au Ra Naming.

Looks like the full details won't be out until May, according to the Nico interview, so I'd like to request something here: A general idea of what Au Ra names will look like. Hopefully this is doable -- it need not be anything more than a few example names, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd be grateful.

Personal reason? It's looking more and more like I'll do this, but even if the race isn't available until 3.0, I'd want to do a name change ASAP so my friends and acquaintances can be updated! And as with the above, I'm sure I'm not the only one with the same idea.

Sadly the only name we have for any Au Ra is Yugiri's, so it's all speculation. Most are guessing that Raen Au Ra use Japanese-esq names, though none have really said any guesses for the Xaela. Personally I'm going to guess Xaela have names like the Highlanders, or maybe Russian/Mongolian/etc...

Haha, with that alone I was tempted to start looking up names based on those ethnicities to come up with something, only, gotta remind myself it's speculation. You can tell I'm stoked for this.

Just note that I could be totally off the mark with my guess, too. I'm just basing my north Asia guess on the fact that Xaela are supposed to be nomadic... I can see it now if they do take Russian/Mongolian names. Yuris everywhere...

I wouldn't mind Egyptian/Arabic names for the Xaela, in the Aht Urhgan fashion from FFXI. In FFXI, The Far East (Japanese-conventions) and the Near East (Aht Urhgan, arabic-conventions) were at war for conquest. I know the Raen and Xaela are not against each other, but I'd like to see them sharing the two specular conventions of Far and Near East as a small tribute to ARR's grandpa FFXI ^^

Which thread is this? Found one on the Lore forum that's 30+ pages deep and skimming through, but any more specific directions would be excellent.

There are no hints for Xaela conventions but there have been discussion that Raen follow the Doman names we know (like Karasu Redbeak, ect)

For all we know, Yugiri is a Doman based name, and not a racial one.
