No Bahamut on that poster? Yay, my theory hasn't been completely blown out the water! I'm assuming that interview where he mentioned Bahamut was more along the lines of explaining his place in things, which I assume to be; Bahamut was one of the first dragons, died, Meracydia summoned him to combat Allag, Dalamud happened, Xandes Calamity happened, Midgardsormr was (the last?) survivor of Meracydia, him and the Allagan Warriors of Light (representatives of Hydaelyn and perhaps the origin of the Twelve mythos) form a agreement (as far as lore goes Midgardsormr guarded the lake as it was the center of all aether, or something to that affect? Crystal Tower was the center of the Allagan Empire and source of all its power, hint hint). Midgardsormr guards the Lake, where Crystal Tower slumbers to prevent its misuse (fast forward to 1.0s opening, Garlemald advances on Mor Dhona during/after Bozja Citadel in which they attempted to recreate Crystal Tower to control Dalamud, hence Midgardsormrs aggression), his seven children perhaps fulfill a similar role; Nidhogg guarding the floating Allag structures we've seen in videos. Ishgards sin is attempting to reach/use that, hence the Dragonsong War.
Of course, if we look at the Blue Dragon Triple Triad card, we could also conclude that, since dragons seem to undergo a unique "evolution" with age, either Bahamut (proper) or Bahamut (prime) look different to each other as a result of that. Alternatively Midgardsormr had eight children and the dead, Primal warped one is no longer counted, thus seven. Of the two my money is on that, why? Every element is covered. Although looking at them that seems doubtful; We have a white (Light/Astral) dragon, a green (Wind), a blue (Ice or Water?), two yellow ones (Earth and Lightning?) then two reds (Fire for one obviously, but the other?). Leaving the desceased 8th as Dark/Umbral, which seems fitting given the Calamity Bahamut eventually ushered in?
Disregarding all of that and thinking about the recent Umbral aspected Calamity actually, is there perhaps a connection between the seven celestial dragons and Mezaya Thousand Eyes' Divine Chronicles? Seven verses, seven dragons... Hmmm...
On the subject of dragon reproduction though, that's reminded me of something... During the Living on a Prayer quest, wasn't the Matron stone (iirc, the one above the Conjurer's Guild) called the Skyserpents Egg or something to that effect? Wonder if that has any relevance what-so-ever. Perhaps my mind is just making all that up though...
