The extra 30 points should go into strength. I would say get as close to 10500 health and throw the rest into strength. This is what Im working with. that would probably mean all crafted accessories but im to cheep with that so 3 ilvl130 str accessories and 2 ilvl 130 Vit will do

with the 110 vita/force you would gain near 70 force and loose some hp 500 if you gear with 130 vita.
so yeah it's cheaper like you said, you just loose some HP by doing that
i have 573 Force, 11410 not in group (more than 12000 with my food) still it's the better way to get survivabilty and get a good dps/aggro up
but yeah if you don't craft and make gils, it can look like crazy expensive HP+force for your war, i guess everybody already kill their gils for the relic :/

10500 is t13 levels (after food echo ext). 6000 before defiance is enough for everything except t13/savage.

Thanks for all the info guys! Really helping me out a lot especially when there's specifics. I guess I'll go hybrid str and vit as of now and slowly change to a str build as I get more comfortable with the game.

Im sure others may disagree, but I split my stats at 10 str and 20 vit. Then again, I know what I can handle and what I cant. I've always viewed War as a hybrid class and I stat him as such.
Yes, there are negatives to this split, but it all comes down to what makes you feel comfortable.
I even put my accessories at 2 str accessories and 3 vit accessories.
I have very little tanking issues and what ones I do have are easily corrected with a provoke+steel cyclone.
Dont be afraid to experiment and find your comfort zone.

Acc. Min HP threshold(vit).STR.DET.CRIT. In that order.

Don't forget SkS for 9 hit Berserk, ~390 usually.

Doesn't sound like much, but balancing Acc requirements with SkS requirements without dropping too much Det is very hard (at least with no Zeta). Personally, I fit 390 SkS > Det in the stat order.

Thank you all who have taken the time to shed some light on this subject.

I find that our stat allocation in FFXIV seems to be set in a way where we only have a small margin of flexibility to play with, and it seems to me that stats are there for situational flexibility.
I observe many players searching for "the formula", and while there can be many, your own approach to the game is what defines such "formula".
Stats are simply player preference, and while you can gain knowledge by reading other players' opinions or preferences, in the end, the key is to build your stat weights to compliment your current situation.
A simple weapon upgrade will most often produce more drastic results for those of us whose tanking gameplay revolves around strong enmity without sacrificing survival, or inflicting more stress onto the healers.
In closing, my suggestion is that you have fun DISCOVERING what works for you, trust yourself, and that you enjoy playing the game

Like others may have posted some warriors may not be comfortable with the content or group to run a strength build.

I've been PUGing a ton of FCoB lately trying to finish off some jobs. The biggest problem I see are tanks not even knowing how much their DPS matters. T13 PLD last night with 10800hp doing 190 dps and WAR with 13000hp doing 220 dps. We ended up getting all 3 dragons in phase 2 and killing right at the 5h ahk. (Terrible raid DPS for T13 with echobut its a PUG)

PLD should have ~9000 hp after food, echo, pty buff, WAR should have ~10000 after the same buffs. The extra STR would push the raid DPS to 2 dragons and we would have never seen the 5th ahk morn. Those are huge differences in that fight. (3 ahk is normal for high raid DPS and allows optimal CD rotation, 4 is normal for PUGs and gives you a free sentinel for oh shit moments, 5 is terrible)
