New Tank skills in Benchmark Trailer

For those that have yet to see it, here is the Benchmark Trailer.

0:11 to 1:20 shows off some of the Dark Knights skill animations in a frozen dungeon.
~6:50 shows off a new Paladin Attack
~6:55 shows off a new Warrior Attack
~7:20 sows off a new Paladin Defensive action that seems to block Line of Sight during AoEs.

Hmm, not sure but the Warrior ability seems a Pull ability?

A LoS AoE's would be nice, PLD has very few abilities that actually protect the party, Cover is pretty much the only one outside the tank LB and testudo in pvp. In ffxi they at least had rampart, which was kind of like the PLD limit break here, it reduced physical damage taken by party members by 10% and magical damage by 5%.

Another thing to note is that the attack being used looked magical, so here's hoping it's not limited to physical only.

As for the new attack, think it's part of a combo and they used it alone just to show it off? Or think this is another off GCD skill like spirits within and circle of scorn?

Also, although I like the idea of PLD protecting the party, I have to say, I'm a little concerned by how much they were playing up massive AoE's that needed protecting against at the end there. Had the DRG using some kind of defensive buff, had the PLD mighty guard, showed the PLD's new party cover. I have a bad feeling we are going to be seeing a lot more 'Nerve cloud' type moves in this expansion, probably in response to all the feedback that the tank LB is useless.

Considering that Riot Blade was used right before it, I'm pretty certain it is part of a Combo. The question I have is if it combo's straight off of Riot Blade (Riot Blade -> New Attack) or if Riot Blade needs to be prepped first (Fast Blade -> Riot Blade -> New Attack).

I'd imagine it will go fast > riot > new. I mean it might be able to combo off an uncombo'ed riot blade, but that would be weird. And would be even weirder for it to not combo off a combo'ed riot blade.

You can't Halone off an uncombo'd Savage, so I don't see any reason this would be able to combo off an uncombo'd Riot.

The main reasons Rage of Halone requires a prepped Savage Blade is to make the whole Fast Blade -> Savage Blade -> Rage of Halone (1475 enimity per GCD) Combo viable over just doing Savage Blade -> Rage of Halone (1762.5 enmity per GCD if Savage didn't need to be prepped).

Fast Blade -> Riot Blade -> New Attack and Riot Blade -> New Attack could both be viable combos.

Maybe that new mass AoE shield is just something unique to the Derplander XD Nah, just kidding -- AoE storm errywhere not gonna stop.

It'll probably require fast blade if only because riot blade is already part of a combo with it. Though I still entertain the idea of the new skill itself not actually being a part of the regular GCD for some reason.
