So you grind a BiS weapon in an MMO and expect that to last you through 2 entire expansions AND 10 levels?

Well, it's not like you're going to throw it away on day 1 when the expansion hits. It'll probably still be useful for a couple of weeks/months until you get a replacement. As a comparisson, people still use ilvl 115 weapons in FCOB, which is 20 ilvl lower than the current cap. Heck, I even cleared FCOB with my alt using a HA blade until I got my Dreadwyrm...

Relics in FFXI were way harder to get then relics in FFXIV which is probably why they aren't carrying them over.

From what I remember, they were less "hard" and more "mind numbingly tedious." Based heavily on droprates and item collection that would make people who've collected all 10 relics blush.

Kind of miffed at people that treat having a relic like it's a right. Relic is it's own reward, it's the best weapon in the game because YOU make it the best weapon in the game. So Mythic is coming in Heavensward, it's probably not going to be starting at the same strength as Relic's Zeta. It'll probably start at around Animus or Nexus. Either way, Relic isn't getting phased out immediately because we don't know what you need to even start Mythic. Like Relic you'll probably need to be max level, which is 60, before you even get the quest to even start Mythic. That's 10 levels worth of leveling and upgrading gear! You'll have probably ditched Relic by then for something from a dungeon. Don't see anyone complaining about THAT...

Wait is the relic going ? am I still able to finish the we pond after 3.0 is out ? (up to the novus stage and spend a lot of money on it) I don't really care if it going to be a weak weapon compared to new ones I would just like to finish it.

You'll be able to finish your zeta, it's just that the whole quest chain will be nerfed in 3.0 so it'll be a lot easier to do compared to before.

Well since there won't be old relics for the newer job, we can assume that completing your old relic will not give any bonus stats on the New Relic or maybe an extra mataria slot because the new jobs will be at a disadvantage because they don't have that option.

So the old Relics from 2.x will be for glamour purposes in HW, but will it has its stats still? Like the Relic weapon isn't going to lose all of its stats upon hitting 3.0, right? That would be dumb if it did.

Trying to get my second Zodiac Brave Weapon for my PLD and I still need 15 more drops, don't want it to be irrelevant by the time I get all 16 drops when 3.0 hits.
