Dev Team, Please Clarify.

Hey,

So in the most recent Letter from the Producer Mr. Yoshida was quoted as saying that the new jobs start at level 30:

Battle System Updates: We’ll be adding three new jobs: dark knight, astrologian, and machinist, and they’ll start from level 30.

But during the EU Fanfest Mr. Yoshida stated that the jobs would have no base-class and that you could enter Ishguard and become a DRK; I interpreted this to mean that DRK would start at lvl 1.

So are the new jobs really going to start at lvl 30 with nothing before 30? (Which would also mean that lower-level dungeons, like Copperbell, would not receive the benefit of having a bunch of people trying to level the new jobs). Or will the new jobs in fact have base-classes that start at lvl 1?

Can one of you please clarify this for me? Thanks!

Jobs start at 30, its been known for quite a while and speculated on even longer that the jobs would NOT start at 1, and they won't.

When you go to unlock the dark knight job you will start it at level 30, that is confirmed, multiple times now actually iirc.

Being that people will probably be running the low roloutte on the new jobs, lower level dungeons will still get some benefit. Immediate at that really.

Like others have said, Dark Knight and the other 2 jobs will start at level 30. There are no base classes linked to them. I don't know if you need to be finished any of the 2.55 story to access these jobs though...i figure you would just need at least 1 lvl 30 job in order to unlock DK, Astro and Machinest

You need to complete the 2.x story to enter Ishgard and I believe the new job trainers are in the new zones, so I'm leaning towards yes, you need to finish 2.x.
