    Temporary Housing - "Shanty Towns"

    The Idea
My idea involves having temporary housing on servers who would like to experience the content of owning a house (coloring a chocobo, stabling one for racing) without forking over an incredible amount of gil artificially driven up via limited bottlenecked housing.

For simplicity sake, I will refer to the temporary housing as Shanty Shacks
They won't be literal shacks, as I imagine them to look like little Hobbit Holes or dog houses (which would probably suit a Lalafell quite neatly)

    Details of the Idea
These Shanty Towns could be extremely small outhouse-sized plots. Perfect for supporting very large servers, such as Balmug, Excaliber, Hyperion, etc.

    - They would be situated within wards, each ward containing a few Towns, with towns ranging from 30-60 Shacks.
    - They are time-based: upon purchasing plot a countdown of, say for the sake of an example, 30 days will start. Once 30 days expires, you lose your Shanty Shack.
    - Upon expiration, you cannot repurchase a Shanty Shack for a specific time, say 5 days.
    - You can only purchase one Shack at a time.
    - If you own a permanent housing plot, you cannot purchase a Shanty Shack.

    Implications of the Idea
    - This gives players ample opportunities to experience the content of owning a house has to offer without needing to scramble for millions of gil.
Thousands can now access it. It's quite pessimistic here on Hyperion when (as I mentioned in another housing thread) one house goes for sale every few months, and it starts at 37million.
Not to mention that 8/9 players on Hyperion will never have the ability to buy a house simply due to the limited amount of housing available, regardless of the amount of gil each player owns.

    - Rich players who already own housing cannot buy up shanty shacks, so they cannot artificially drive up pricing.
    - Shacks have a fixed gil amount to purchase it for, which doesn't fluctuate based on the demand for them.
    - Shacks are time based, so the plot is relinquished upon time expiration. Making room for the next eager player to obtain one for their coloring and racing purposes.
    - There is a time penalty after the expiration, so players cannot continually repurchase said housing over and over again indefinitely. Once it's relinquished, new players have 5 days to claim the house before the previous owner does.
    - More traffic into wards will occur, as players will be more likely to buy up the Shacks and start utilizing the content in that area.

    Important Things to Remember
    - This idea was meant for quick housing made available for players to experience the content strictly associated with Housing, including coloring chocobos, training race birds, etc.
    - This idea is not meant for players to decorate their shanty shack with their housing items. As with the cramped space and limited time, it's not meant as a permanent form of housing. Furniture and your Ifrit trophy belong in real housing plots....
    - This idea does not impact current plot owners, nor do current owners lose out on not owning a Shack, as they can do everything and more.
