Final coil had more mechanics than second coil though....actually the only fight that was even mechanic heavy at all in second coil was turn 8.They said it'd be FCoB savage difficulty.
But we dont even have FCoB Savage. If they meant FCoB difficulty, I'm fine with that. It's challenging in a way that it should be imo (balance of both mechanic execution and knowing your job) compared to the mechanic-heavy SCoB.
In terms of the sheer number of mechanics you had to deal with all at once, SCoB was far more mechanic-heavy than FCoB. FCoB is a joke compared to SCoB. T10 the most you have to deal with is tether/charge. T11, laugh. T12 is respectable. T13 last phase (which is half the fight) is just a repeat of the first phase with tethers and Flatten replaced by Akh Morn.
T7 definitely had a lot of mechanics to deal with.
... for your Bard.
Also this is kind of interesting, the discussion about Alex Normal being too easy and Alex Savage being too hard. I think we are guesstimating a bit too much and assuming that Normal will be faceroll, but since it's on a loot lockout instead of the usual one then that guess could actually hold some weight. Alex Normal and weekly tomes, I assume, are for gearing for Savage, thus incentivizing players of all sorts to group together to gear up, either to tackle Savage or just to make normal dungeons easier. We'll probably get an upgrade system for the weekly tome gear, but that'll probably be locked away in Savage at least for quite awhile.
It kind of depends on just how casual it is, though. LFR in WoW is faceroll and most players complain about it because of that. Normal in WoW, however, is just your standard difficulty - not too hard, not too easy. Hopefully SE is taking a note from Blizzard (as they often do... maybe too many times) and tuning it that way, making Savage like Heroic difficulty.

I'm not too familiar with the difficulties on Wow raids etc, but in the same Q&A at Nico, they got this question:T7 definitely had a lot of mechanics to deal with.

Q. Was Hard mode made with WoW's Mythic raids in mind?
Y: We're actually calling them Heroic internally.
As for the difficulty, I guess it was too much expecting hard mode to be like SCoB(Savage), but I was hoping it would be harder than current coil though... But the reason they could make that one harder, I thought was because they were adding normal mode, which could keep players busy for a while at least, and help medium core players gear appropriately before entering Hard mode. It could also work as a stepping stone for players that haven't gotten into raiding before, or are new to the game.
We already have the CTs now, and the new one in heavensward for the casuals... what was needed was a stepping stone between the highest level raid and "CT", not another CT level raid. So I really hope there is some challenge to it
Keep in mind that what is now called Mythic in WoW was Heroic before, they added Mythic as a new difficulty level in Warlords of Draenor IIRC.I'm not too familiar with the difficulties on Wow raids etc, but in the same Q&A at Nico, they got this question:

The CT style loot lockout has me really worried. Coil was the only story in 2.x that I cared about completing because the fights required effort which got me engaged, on the other hand I couldn't bring myself to give a shit about the main story or the Crystal Tower series. When they've said we're going to have to farm the easy mode to have the gear to even have a chance at the difficult fights I don't see myself getting excited about fighting a "new" boss when I've already killed it countless times.
I don't think it will just be the same encounter with more health, higher damage etc. I think it'd be something like hard versus extreme primals. Well, I hope.

A bit late to reply, but Turn 7 was super easy and had basically no mechanics in comparison.
I don't consider 'turn around when you get a debuff, petrify an add, or stand behind the petrified add' a mechanic, honestly. Turn 7 is the easiest turn in history and always has been. >_> The nerfs just made it way more forgiving.
Turn 6 wasn't much better, and turn 9 is also incredibly simple when it comes down to it, it's just another long fight that you can't make a mistake in.
Only fight in second coil that is even remotely complex is turn 8.
