Preparing For Heavensward: Dark Knight

Ok, so we know these new jobs Dark knight, Astrologian, and Machinist will begin at level 30. I know gear we have stored will be usable for these new guys, but is there any point in leveling an appropriate class for the cross class skills? Will they even be usable for these new jobs? And if yes, which classes will offer the necessary CCS's? Arcanist for Astrologian? Archer for Machinist? Gladiator for Dark Knight?

Just don't want to waste time preparing for the expansion if there is no point in this regard.

Just level everything. At bare minimum you'll probably need GLA for Provoke(DRK), THM for Swiftcast(AST), and ARC for Quelling Shots(MCH). Aside from those is anyone's guess.

My bet is that they'll have no access to any cross-class skill, since this is SE's experiment at class-leveling-independent jobs.

Like with existing jobs, cross-class abilities will still function the same (and therefore presumably be usable on the new Extra Jobs). More specifics on which class actions can be used by the new Extra Jobs will, of course, be released as we get closer to Heavensward.

I'm still amazed how GLD will be the "must have" for every tank class, because of Provoke and probably Convalescence. Unless DRK surprises me and includes a "voke" move.

They might, we don't know what all actions DRK or any of the new jobs will come with.

I think (hope) that they'll have their own version of those important abilities since they do have 30 levels worth of their own unique abilities.
