ive found that if I wait for someone to step up and mt in wod then they just don't, although there is the odd few who do. so I never shout, just a quick ready check and so long as the healers and other tanks click go then ill pull even with a few missing dps. I do always pass mt on cerb though unless im C tank as that rule is pretty set by now, so unless the others are new or really don't want to I don't tank cerb.

but because no one steps up in general I will always aim to mt there, especially the first boss cus that has to be tanked right with no mistakes on morbal stare and ireful, and usually if I go dps that boss is a mess with the mt getting doom and then spinning the boss and killing people.

the others aint to bad as it will just put alittle extra strain on the healer if the tanks do badly. well until you get to cloud, not that its hard to tank, cus it really isn't but she hits damn hard and it helps if the tank knows how to rotate cooldowns.

but because of how hard she hits its my fave fight to see an impatient dps or healer pull, cus 2 hits and there dead, and yeah I never will pull hate before they die cus they deserve it.

My gear isn't exactly terrible but I'm still on my atma relic stage, and I'm too cheap to buy a temporary weapon so I have a hard time holding threat against people with zodiac/poetics weapons. Plus a lot of new/unconfident tanks run full vit accessories without realising how much it hurts threat generation.
If you want a easy strong weapon the conquerer easy to get and have really good stats. Enough to manage until I get a better weapon.

If you are a good tank you should be off tank in wod because you know almost everytime you join all the derps never grab adds nor pay attention to mechanics main tanking is easy so be a good tank and take care of the stuff the nubs cant

I always go OT into WoD, with full STR accessories and either Sword Oath or Defiance OFF, even though I have better equipment that the other tanks 70% of the time. I make it a point to /s, /y and /a "Off tanking here", because tank pissing contests are stupid.

Last boss I usually run out in the parking lot and soak up comets* - this allows deeps to burn her more quickly.

*FYI the big comet drops come after each center-focused laser blast from the main. So OTs can go full deeps then put on the +HP/Dmg mitigation right after the blast and make it out to the back of the parking lot to get the comets. This is a sure-fire way to earn comms from the smart BLMs and BRDs as well, 'cause apparently they appreciate continuously attacking.

Glad to see a few of us take OTing as seriously as MTing.

The problem with this is that it's WoD. If I'm running with pentameld or full STR accessories and Defiance off, I'm typically in the top 5 DPS. It's usually a DPS drop in total for me to take comets over BLM-who-doesn't-know-their-rotation 1, 2 and 3.

This is ilv 100 content; you've got to assume everyone knows how to do their job. Your job as an OT (in this fight) should be to allow the deeps to stay on target(s).
You will probably out DPS some folks. Oh well. Those folks are also the ones that don't realize someone has to get under the car-sized hail stones.

1.) You shouldn't assume anyone knows what they're doing ever. Always default to everyone missing their brains and cover for all potential mistakes.
2.) Healers who aren't in MT's group are best for the far distance meteors with no DPS loss. During the puffs phase with meteors, ranged and healers are both better than you being there since you're melee. That said, nobody usually knows what mechanics even are in WoD so if you see that nobody is in one of the circles, stand in it. Better to lose some DPS and not wipe than to wipe and lose ALL your DPS.
