Calling MT huh?

The new trend I see now is: Everyone stands around because nobody wants to mt. I pull the boss, then the other tanks starting hitting provoke to take it off me.

Then on the next fight I tell them to go ahead and mt since they wanna use provoke for the sole purpose of being a dbag. The other tanks sit around doing nothing until a dps or healer pulls it.

This never used to happen, but now it seems like a common occurrence.

It seems to be brand of tank-initiated trolling, honesty. DPS have their charge-ahead trolling, Healers have their Cure II troll -- this is ours.

I generally just save myself the hassle and MT everything. You couldn't rip threat off me if you wanted too, but it is fun to sometimes watch the other tanks try. After a few GCDs they generally give up and go do other things.

I can rip hate ooff you no problems with an ilvl130 weapon. My crit game is strong lol. With defiance on I have about a 35% crit chance

Yeah, even with just a 100 weapon I occasionally pull threat off of other tanks without even trying. Nine times out of ten it's someone with a decent enough weapon and full vit accessories, so they have a completely unnecessary amount of health but can't hold aggro for crap. Gonna be "interesting" when I get the poetics weapon...

I have a VIT and STR setup for PLD. I still use my VIT set in raids due to me dying cause of healers getting killed.

Unnecessary amount of health is something we can argue, but i simply dont trust the healers I meet in DF.

The VIT vs STR argument can easily end with the realization that our attributes and accessories are not supposed to be a static setup, hence they are easily changeable! Determining how to set up for a given encounter considering group makeup and fight mechanics is also a facet of game play, sometimes overlooked.

On the subject of holding enmity, it is as much of a tank job to hold it, as it is everyone else's job to monitor their own enmity as well. The UI contains a couple of elements to facilitate this, so use it well
The enmity mechanic is another aspect of the game that often goes misunderstood...If you have a tank in the party who is having a tough time, why not simply adapt to the situation? You only WIN as a group anyhow...

It is not your crit game that lets you rip hate off of slightly better geared Paladins, but the fact that Warriors can Maim (120% damage/enmity) + Unchained (133% damage/enmity) + Berserk (150% damage/enmity) while in Defiance for 3 5721 enmity Butcher's Block combos compared to a Paladin's 4056 enmity RoH combo while Shield Oath and Fight or Flight are up.

Edit: Noticed I messed up Maim's bonus. That shorted the Emity gain of the Butcher's Block combo by ~500.

It is not your crit game that lets you rip hate off of slightly better geared Paladins, but the fact that Warriors can Maim (110% damage/enmity) + Unchained (133% damage/enmity) + Berserk (150% damage/enmity) while in Defiance for 3 5244 enmity Butcher's Block combos compared to a Paladin's 4056 enmity RoH combo while Shield Oath and Fight or Flight are up.

I guess I should if stated I wear strength gear and hit ridiculously hard for my warrior. my butcher under defiance penalty crits hits for 1.1k. That enmity boost gets that 1.5 multiplier . Crit isn't need but it sure gives you a nice boost. Also in coils when we put i do the buerserk unchained combo and I use none of my enmity mover. I usually do storm eye first and than storms path right after. I crit for like 1.6 k and I freaking pull hate 80% of the time. Even if I don't crit im still on the PLD ass. I avoid skull sunder or butcher in the initial pull if i aint main tanking.

That's still 6990 enmity (SE Combo -> SP Combo 6 2.2 GCDs with Berserk/Unchained) vs 5824 Enmity (RoH Combo->FB->SB 5 2.5 GCDs with FoF). Without Unchained you drop from 6990 to 5255 enmity for the SE/SP combo. Warrior buff stacking is why their enmity generation is so crazy compared to Paladins.

People still moan and fight about the MT role? boring paladin for boring job, I say. OTing is much, much more engaging imho. Put shortly, if a sap continues to fight for aggro on purpose, let them have it.
