Unless they enable a /command line to swap macros without swapping hotbars, I'll be hosed if we get more than 1 new healing ability. The ability to bind a macro to R3/L3 was a good start, but not enough.
I don't use Macros except with a "RAISING THIS PERSON" macro on my Raise so I have all my spaces filled on both my Cross Bars. I can easily get rid like Return and Teleport but... That's only two spaces. Ugh.

I'm actually kind of worried about Heavensward because I don't know what I'm going to do with my crossbars. xD It's kind of pathetic but I'm comfortable with my crossbars I don't want change.

WHM I have a lot more room than SCH. SCH I have something like 4 or 5 spots open, silly targeting macros and fairy command stuff.

Wonder how many keybinds AST will want for....

Scholars have to work very hard to fit everything with proper faerie control. As I was leveling WHM for Stoneskin, I plotted out all the skills at lvl 50 for WHM. On Scholar, I had to consolidate multiple skills together with macros to save space. On White Mage, I had plenty of extra space.

I have a pile of extra macros for ease of targeting though now that I think about it. I can free up probably 6 keybinds on my scholar if I got rid of them, though I would HATE having to relearn that.

The cost of Stone II is just ridiculous. As you said, the issue with WHM damaging is the incredible mana drain from your filler spell.

I never got it managed to deal more DMG on scholar with equal gear. Always less.

The issues of DPSing as Whitemage are MP cost and you loose much more heal output than a scholar.
And accuracy. WHM on raid bosses is rough times without a lot of accuracy on gear. Bio and Bio 2 cannot miss, so while your Miasma and Ruins are subject to accuracy penalties, two of your higher potency attacks are guaranteed hits. The best way to get accuracy for healers has so far been crafted accessories with accuracy melds, but those typically don't come out until well into a raid's lifespan, so for most progression, scholars will do more dps.

For 4-man content, accuracy is usually not a big deal, so yeah, WHM can go nuts.

Free Stone III proc on Stone II perhaps? Not that I wanna step into BLM territory with Firestarter but Earth elemental, but it wont make WHM broken, would it? Considering SpS affecting DoT damage will greatly affect SCH dps, I wouldn't mind bumping WHM dps to compensate.

If it's not a Dot with more than 15sc ... if it's not a instant... or if it doesn't apply any usefull buff or debuff it will be a new useless skill for WHM ... keep faith maybe it will be a good surprise =) or maybe they think we will need it to solo leveling (youhou) ...

I wouldn't say it's that simple. While rare, there are times when the shields won't get used up because of lack of raid damage. Additionally, Succor spam will always be 150 Potency per cast (besides the first one) because your shields can't stack.

But as your only AoE heal, if you're just using it as a way to heal everyone after an AoE and you're in a fight with 2 SCH's (such as WoD) and Whispering Dawn is on CD, it doesn't really cut it. If both SCH's Succor for 600 that's only 1200 and a single WHM Medica does about that much.

I understand SCH's aren't supposed to be big healers the way WHM's are, but I do think that just having an AoE heal would be nice (a girl can dream. XD).
