Lack of Endgame Progression

I'm finding myself wanting to play this game less and less. I just recently obtained my Nexus weapon to discover I have to run more low level dungeons. It seems there is very little reason for people to play endgame content because of the lack of rewards. I would do more endgame myself, but too often I cannot find anyone to do it with because the other players have "bought" their clears (using gil). This is particularly true about turn 9. This is a very difficult fight to clear and it is needed for FCOB. It would seem most people who want to progress past this point have to pay for a clear. There's just not enough people who do it.

I think the higher relic weapon quests should require the Binding Coils to encourage more people to complete them instead of just repeating tasks they've completed 20-30 times.

Relic is the option for people who DON'T want to raid, so that would be silly.

You could just get yourself into a guild that doesn't suck, or make a guild that's devoted to doing Coil runs. While I'm not sure that grinding out for the best gear possible right before an expansion is exactly the best use of anyone's time, but it does make for some fancy transmog.

Relic is relic, it's really not associated with end game except during those weird periods where the next raid weapon hasn't come out yet.

You could always do what I'm doing making a linkshell of many individuals who May or May not have the playtime for a static group but who are willing to throw their faces at content until it's completed.

Makes sense, the problem is that the stats on coil drops aren't optimal. for PLDs its crit and parry. parry is pretty useless unless u're in a fight w/ all physical dmg, and I need det more than anything. the only way i can get the optimal gear is by doing the relic. which is prolly the reason everyone focuses on that instead of fcob.

also, joining an fc which actually does fights is harder than it sounds. u either get the ones that bicker too much, or the ones where they're so crazy that one screw up means you pay a ton of gil as a fine, or u'r booted from the fc. tried the ls idea, it kinda works, only people come and go too often and a good replacement is impossible to find. none of this would be the case if SE would make getting the relic based on skill, not how much free time you got. that would make more sense too cuz it will always be the better weapon as the stats can be customized

Very well said. I think SE is aware of this but they don't see it as a problem. They just want players to keep playing the game but people are all out of ideas on how to do just that. Not that many people see it, but this game is chock full of a developer technique called Fake Longevity. Once you realize that you're doing an egregious amount of tasks that should be simple by the time you reach a certain level, but aren't for the sake of needing to sink more time into the game for a minimum reward, (My eyes are dead set on atma books. Why the low level dungeons? Let me solo them and be done with it! NO MORE LEVEL SYNC OUTSIDE OF DUTY FINDER AND ROULETTES) everything looses its magic and you're only doing it for fun by then. Wish I had a solution for you. I can only suggest finding some people you enjoy talking to and playing with.

Maybe you should join a bigger server so you can find groups in PF. From what I've heard, Exc is pretty small.

we can put it that way: you say theres not alot to do in the long run? you need to get a life and not power grind the coil runs so much, second thing: being the best in a video game is like bragging on how good you are at stealing pacifiers from sleeping babies, wont get ya anywhere. its a video game AKa distraction not a life style.
There's just not enough people who do it.
its not that theres not en ough people to do it.. its mostly because peopel are expecting to get carried by other players and brag on how good they are afterward NUANCE. peopel always expect everyone to know everything yet they fail to remember how lame they were when they first started raiding( i still remember people wiping on turn 1 due to bad split pulls or peopel not burning the splits fast enough or no slimes being fed to splits etc etc etc)

There is also more satisfaction to making a relic, than killing a boss and have ur weap fall out of it's ass.
