This is going to be a whole separate game and expansion to download?
And will we be able to get it on disc?
Thanks

The DX11 client is going to be downloaded separately, so you'll have to download it at the launch of Heavensward if you want to use the DX11 client. Don't think they've said anything about whether it'll be on the Heavensward disc or not.
Eh? I thought they said it would be a graphical toggle thing. At least they made it sound like you could just turn it off or on if you wanted, and not a completely different client. Either way, I'm ready for some DX11.
I don't think drectx works like that.
From my understanding it's a separate download as mentioned by Colorful. Heavensward I know will have it by default for the expansion itself, not for the base game unless you buy the bundle pack. I'm pretty sure it's not like you have to download the entire game again but maybe it has to be a change in the client activation itself.
Forget dx11, I want dx12. :P
Ah, hrm. Well I'll be getting it either way. :P
As for DX12.. Idk Sassy, we might have to wait another year or two for that at this rate lol.
Since there's going to be no addition resources, ie HD textures, with this DX11 version all you need is the executable. The current DX9 version is only 16.7MB so expect it around that size.
From what were told on live letters it seems to be a separate download. It is possible to have a toggle switch for DX and other games do it. World of Warcraft comes to mind. I'd prefer if it all came together and you chose what version in the launcher.
The DirectX 11 client is separate, but you do have to download the entire game again. How so? It has all of the new upgraded base files for textures and the graphics engine. It's not going to be a slap of new paint for the current DX9 game. There will still be the original DX9 client to play on, and the separate DX11 client to play on.
