Uh. Are the female versions of PLD or WAR armour that different from the male versions?
I don't see why everyone is acting like this is a possible thing when FFXIV seems to be more homoerotic than anything.

I have to agree with the 'Why?' people here. If you want games where the same armor is radically different between men and women then go play another game where that's set and established. So far only a handful of armors show a decided difference between men and women and those differences are either minimal (Dragoon AF) or on purpose (Coliseum). Everything else is pretty similar with obvious changes to account for gender (Flame Elite Caster), if there's even changes at all (Soldiery Tank). I don't see them making an exception this late in the game. I pray they don't.
I believe that as long as it's equal it's fine. If BOTH genders AF is skimpy then it's fine. It's when the female armor is skimpy and the male is not that I have issues due to this thing called objectification. Like I am perfectly fine worth that race in Tera since both genders basically wear no clothes. Showing skin is not the issue. Only having females show skin is.

Refer to this comment before you go whining like a twelve year old preteen boy who's porn stash was found:
Make the male DRK AF armor a platekini as well and we're all good on my end.

Indeed. But apparently "aesthetics" and "artistic vision" mean it's nothing to do with that!I believe that as long as it's equal it's fine. If BOTH genders AF is skimpy then it's fine. What? Objectification? People who say that seem to act like artists and designers are above humanity. As if they can't be sexist or objectify women. Then they start things like Gamergate which completely destroy the world's view of video games and their community.

TBH I like the "form-fitted" version a bit better, granted I mained PLD and the armors don't change much at all between genders past lv25~ish when you get your first full-plate set lol.

*grompy hands*I already posted these in the thread discussing DRK's female armor, and I thought I'd share them outside that context for fun!
Here are some design edits I did contemplating what the female versions of these might look like come Heavensward;
Demure DRK
Risque DRK
Female Gunner somewhere inbetween conservative and sexy;
Mods let me know if this is against ToS and I'll remove them!
I've created a monster! But turnabout is fair play I suppose. If girls are to be scantily clad;
Gimmie. I know people, they would love this. This would be awesome. SE you need to make armor Variants. Please. Options, for all of us.

Yes, exactly. But for some reason no one in these threads ever seems to be capable of admitting that, "yes, I prefer female characters to be dressed skimpily but I don't like the same for men." There always has to be some ~higher reason~, like "aesthetics" or "artistic vision" (especially the latter seems to pop up). HOW DARE YOU TRY TO STIFLE THE ARTIST'S VISION.
OP's skimpy male DRK armour is pretty awesome though, I am all for it if both genders get it.![]()

Man, AF could be a damn tattoo for all I care about. As long as it gives me the defense I need, who cares?
