    Likes and/or Voting

Can there be a feature added to the forums so that if you agree with a post you can just click on Like instead of doing a replay just to say you agree. Also if you could set up an advance post system where the person creating the post can make a poll for voting on an idea? Just some thoughts. I am not enjoying reading excess posts all saying "I agree" or like I have seen on Petition posts "Signed"

It would make things easier. But it would also make people less inclined to post additional thoughts or information on the subject.

    Still, I like the idea.

A discussion about the topic including improvements and suggestions is more usefull to the dev/producer than a poll which tells them that 100 people like the idea and 7 don't.

As the devs said. They will look at the topics who have good and a lot of discussions.

I disagree with the notion that the OP's idea would discourage discussion. Those who have something to add will certainly add to the discussion. Internet egos demand that their voices be heard. What the OP's suggestion allows is for those who do not have anything to add, yet want to voice support, can do so without wasting pointless seconds for anyone reading a simple post that says "I agree". I support the OP's idea.

EDIT: In addition, one thing I would add to the OP is that any click of a "Like" button should bump the thread. Should keep the good threads on page 1 for as long as possible.

I know from other game forums, that saying "I agree" or "T-Up"-ing suggestions doesn't matter for the dev team. They want to see a good well thought out suggestion that makes them think about it.

The "I agree" posts are same as spam - they won't make the idea better nor help the dev team in ANY way.

I agree with the first post on this topic for a number of reasons.
    1. If someone has said everything you were going to say, It makes more sense to simply indicate agreement than restate the post.
    2. There are a number of posts that are extremely relevant to discussions, but get lost in the realm of random small comments. I think that adding a system letting people promote relevant posts would help improve the discussion on the forum.
    3. People will do the current I agree posts simply because there is no better way to support someone's thread.

Yes please allow us to make our own player poll's on the forums, and if someone posts something of interest and ability to "like" that persons post would also be good.

This would be a good way to help the dev's judge players feedback to as well as the official player poll's as the would be able to see would quickly what people like if the posters poll is of any use.

This is from a different game forum regarding suggestions:

The ultimate goal in mind for suggestions is not to just suggest new ideas for the game, but primarily to create productive discussions about each suggestion posted. Make sure to focus on discussing both the pros and cons of the proposition; this is very important to do.
I just want to show you how devs think about suggestions and what really matters to them.

It is also useful to analyzing what effects the suggestion would have in the long term in terms of the game's development, gameplay and overall quality. It is important that you explain your full viewpoint on a suggestion; do not be afraid to state the negative aspects of a suggestion if you have any. It only helps your case because when staff members review it they can see that there was more thought put into it and not be as worried that you were ignoring certain aspects.
Obviously you can't transfer this into this forum 1:1, but It shows what matters for people who work with suggestions.

You just said it. The Devs use the players poll to see what people want, they DONT need them in the forum aswell. They will probably look at what topics are talked about the most and then make a poll that includes ALL players and not only the ones in the forum.

But you need to still have an account to do both the Player Poll's and access the Forums so it is still the exact same people completing the official poll and any posted on the forum. I am not seriously suggesting that the dev team see a poll on the forum look at the result and then act on it from just that single poll. The problem with the forum atm is so many people are posting so much crap about the same things in topics. With a poll anyone would be able to look at the options and see which turn out to be favourite very quickly without trawling though the entire thread. Also with the like system then they could go into the thread and find the post people liked a lot and go into it further.

I really can't see the harm in adding a poll system to the forum, how is it any worse than all the "petition this" threads at the minute. It would just allow you to see which was the favoured outcome more quickly.

You posted what I wanted to say a day before I read this thread. I dislike reading through 50 pages of posts because everyone is saying the same thing over and over again, but I am guilty of it because I cannot just add a like to the post that states (usually better than I could have) exactly what I want to get across.

I would "like" post#6 (what's in the quote) instead of this post if I could have.
