There really isn't much incentive to do so though, because artisan tools are very affordable to get, AND you can desynth most of it later depending on which desynth classes you take.

It'll help out with the manual II token crafts also, so I always get my artisan tools.

Also, the stats difference between an Artisan tool and a Supra is not that big. I'd only recommend going for a Supra if you intend to upgrade it right away to a Lucis (or if you have a lot of money) since each Supra takes 10 FCIIIs and 3 MCs. ^^
